I don't know about him being the best drummer ever. I'd say that Rick Allen is the most talinted drummer ever. If anybody doesn't know who Rick Allen is, he's the drummer of Def Leppard who lost his arm about twenty years ago. but even now, he still manages to play without the aid of a drum machine. That's real talent. You'd agree if you have heard him drum. |

Ok, I'm going to take a crack at this jet black thing. I did a little research, and found out that Jet Black might actually be seperate things. Jet probably refers to "Jet" by Paul McCartney and Wings (1973), while Black may refer to the song "Black Betty" by Ram Jam (1977). |

Well, you're pretty close elisha. I'd say that he's saying that he's tried to live the way that whomever is in charge wanted him to live like, but he didn't like it, so he thinks it's only fair that he should be able to try out his way of life. This song can really connect to teenagers like me very well. I should be able to try to live like I want to, because I gave my parents' way a shot, but I don't like it. |

Sadly, I've gotta say that this song is about the loss of a woman whom he had loved very dearly, most likely his wife ("We've had our share of hard times, but that's the price we've paid. And through it all, we've kept the promise that we've made", which the promise was the wedding vows). Anyway, It's a song of loss because he says that he washed away a dream of her, which means that he had to get over her memory |
