ok this is just my two cents. aaron is by no way claiming mohamed as God. the tone of the song is finding common ground. after all, isn't aarons relationship with his parents all about that? ' "my face is red but our hats are green" be it orchard or a curling vine the son of yours is the Son that's my God...' that obviously points to finding common ground. also, the line about mohamed doesn't seem to exalt him. it sounds to me like aaron is saying "i swear its true, mohamed" in the same tone one might say "i swear i saw bigfoot, mike!" so maybe aaron is pleading with the followers of mohamed to simply agree that we all believe in the same God. not to mention the strong forgiveness themed end. think about it, theres alot of forgiveness to be had on BOTH sides. crusades, border disputes, plane attacks. to conclude, this is aaron sharing how he feels about his family situation, being both biological and spiritual. |
