| Red Lorry Yellow Lorry – Hands off me Lyrics | 2 years ago |
| I'm guessing this is about a criminal giving quick advice to his son, shortly before he's sentenced to be executed <See my face and my body burn> then <Hands off me!> as he's being carted off... | |
| The Psychedelic Furs – President Gas Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| @[neon56:39856] maybe they should re-do the song..."President Trump is President Trump again!"... | |
| The Psychedelic Furs – Shine Lyrics | 5 years ago |
A solitary man sits alone in his room thinking about the breakup of his relationship which sounds pretty epic. And I think that's about it. All the shutters drawn Look at me I'm shamed My bottle done Not sure about the "dirty wings" bit... |

| Red Lorry Yellow Lorry – Monkeys on Juice Lyrics | 6 years ago |
I'm assuming this is about ravers -- monkeys on juice -- meaning "juice monkeys" -- people taking steroids/ecstasy and dancing for hours on end at raves. Reed's take on the scene changing - for the worse... < For hours...for hours...>> no meaning to their stumbling < the final repeat chorus ends this song brilliantly...these fools are doomed to repeat themselves...for all eternity... < In drunkenness we stumble... for hours...for hours....>> my two cents... |

| The Psychedelic Furs – Dumb Waiters Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I've heard this great song a million times and I still can't figure it out. I'll take a stab at it. Based on the cacophonous melody and stream-of-consciousness lyrics it sounds like a coked-out scenester, paranoid, trying to avoid everyone and wanting to stay alone in his room of hell. "tell her that i'm not in here tell her i'm a freak" and "they've got it in for me yeah i mean it honestly" I dunno...my two cents... |

| The Sisters of Mercy – Temple Of Love (Extended) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
These are interesting interpretations. I always assumed it was about the end of the world; some natural tsunami or major calamity that was ending it all and religion was useless in the face of this... "In the black sky thunder sweeping Underground and over water Sounds of crying weeping will not save Your faith for bricks and dreams for mortar All your prayers must seem as nothing Ninety-six below the wave When stone is dust and only air remains" |

| Richard Hell And The Voidoids – The Kid With The Replaceable Head Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"They say he's dead, he's my three best friends" -- perhaps a reference to Thunders, Nolan and...Tom Verlaine? |
| The Psychedelic Furs – Here Come Cowboys Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Sarcasm aimed at the impending ultra-conservative politics which would come to dominate the eighties... "here come cowboys they're no fun at all" and "it really gets to be a drag when all we really need is love" perhaps also a poke at the failure of the '60s generation to succeed in their aims which brought this mess about in the first place. |

| The Psychedelic Furs – All That Money Wants Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Can't believe no one has tried to decipher this...such beautiful lyrics. Well..I'll give it a shot. Knowing that this came after their "Midnight to Midnight" album which they complained was "rushed" by the record company and way too over-produced, etc...I am guessing that it's an angry railing against the money dominated culture that forced them into that position. "but it all means nothing to me all that money wants" I'm sure someone more brilliant than I can give this a better go... |

| The Psychedelic Furs – Until She Comes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
In an interview Butler compared it to "Every Breath You Take" by the Police. He said it was about a stalker who was obsessed with a girl. His life did not exist without her. "There's no good reason to begin Until she comes again" |
| The Psychedelic Furs – Fall Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Sounds like a non-comformist, art-student's (R. Butler went to art school) hatred of the middle class. "marry me and be my wife you can have me all your life" never sounded so godawful... |
