I love this song and the fact that it can mean a million things. Now that i really pay attention to the lyrics I kind of think that she was lost in a world of drugs and is finally realizing the hole she was in. She's waking up to realize how much cocaine (Snow White) was destroying her. It's an angry song full of resentment but it's also hopeful... she's done with it.
It can also be breakup song... or a mourning song... I LOVE it. |

I have this son on replay for almost a week. I love it. To me it hits home. I really liked someone who lives a million miles away from. He came once, when we met and we had started something without ever getting major. He left and came back after 6 months and we had only 6 days to get it going again and eventually finally make love. It was so awkward because things were so rushed and against us.
I had heard this song before but I LOVED it as I was driving to see him on his last night. It gave me the courage and motivation to go ahead and make a move. Great song. |

This song is so powerful, I love it. I've gotten to the point where I've done things I wasn't proud of for someone I thought I loved. Things like trying to change who I was. And it hurts even more when it's someone that loves you too, just that not in the way you want.
This song hits every nerve of my body and reminds me of times that I now look back on as when I feel into a "pathetic" kind of love.

I kind of have a different point of view than the rest of you guys. I think this song works great if seen completely through Bella’s point of view.
Bella is completely taken away by Edward and has a part deep inside of her that wants to claim him and make him hers. Whoever reads Twilight knows that she has tons of desire in her and what she’s capable of doing when she really wants something.
But then her low self-esteem comes to surface and that’s when she admits that she can’t live up to Edwards expectations… she has nothing for him to gain. And he’s mentioned that he’s been waiting for her, his true love… but she thinks he’s been waiting in vain.
Edward is the one whose eyes are on fire… his need for Bella’s blood and her love are expressed through his eyes, but Bella can knows she can disarm Edward with her love.
I don’t know that’s the way I always interpreted it. The song by itself can be applied to many situations. I love it… its haunting and kind of sexy at the same time. Awesome.

I first heard this song on Buffy and then on Dawson’s Creek. It has so much meaning and can be related to different situations.
To me, the song is about having loved someone who didn’t appreciate you at the right time. Later on, when you moved on, that person finally decides to notice you. That’s why she says “I didn’t come this far for you to make it hard on me”.
At the end when she mentions, “Of all the things that you could be, you never could learn how t o be me, and now you want to ask me… how”, means that whoever she’s singing to will never understand her or keep up with her feelings… so eventually he’s left bemused… |

This is one of my top 5 all time favorite songs. I fell in love with Michelle Featherstone because of this song and was able to discover all of her great music. Then we became facebook friends and actually chatted!! She’s super nice and a true talent!
I first heard this song on “The Hills” and it fitted perfectly to Lauren’s situation at the time. Later on, I found it very close to things that were going on in my personal life as well. That regretful feeling that you get when you were with the wrong person for so long… how you can’t let go even when you know it’s wrong… and how you end up hating yourself for being so weak. In the end she promises herself strength… enough strength to quit whoever she’s clinging to and stop hurting herself.
At the time I heard this song I was sleeping with someone who I loved, but didn’t love me back and just used me whenever I was convenient. It meant so much to me because of what I felt, until I realized how degrading it was. This song helped me understand how I would eventually feel if that kept going… I love it..

This song really gets to me. It’s clear that the song is about a bad breakup, but what I really like about it is that it follows the whole process after it. The different things one feels and how eventually one starts to realize that it’s not the end of the world.
My favorite part is “It all came to me, driving home crying my eyes out”… for all of us that have done this, I think it gets to you. Crying at random times and then realizing that it’s not so tough anymore and not worth your time.
I was reading “New Moon” and getting to the part where Edward breaks up with Bella and this song came on. It fit perfectly to what was happening (well the beginning at least) and it became part of my personal soundtrack for the book.

I love this song so much. The way I see it, the universal meaning of this song is “seize the moment; I know this isn’t a conventional love, but it’s either now or never”. She’s persuading her hesitant lover to go for it, without thinking about It too much… no consequences, no nothing… just now.
When she says:
“Don’t waste it, it’s only here for today”: she means her love, the moment, the opportunity… it’s not always going to be there.
“Forever is only a moment away”: time is running out… forever is almost here.
“Don't mess with my heart, don't mess with my mind, Won't let you get us down this time.” : I know your hesitant, but I’m not going to let your insecurities let us down this time.
“You'll like what you see and take it from me, You'll learn to see it over time.”: Over time you’re going to realize that whatever your sacrificing now was worth it…
“Get wasted on love, get wasted on life, get wasted on anything that's right. Get wasted, get wasted, get wasted, get wasted with me”: Take whatever you need to be on my same level (love drunk) and just give in… be wasted with me. Be brave!
“It seems empty, I don't know what you expect, If you don't give, You're never going to get”: Again with the hesitant lover… he/she is doubtful because he/she see’s too much against this unconventional love… it seems empty because he/she isn’t contributing to the relationship because of insecurities. But the truth is that the singer is getting tired of waiting… that’s why she’s persuading.
I do think this song is about an unconventional love… maybe a gay relationship and how hard it is for one of them to come out to everyone.
It’s one of my top 10… hope I got to express my point of view clearly!
