wow, you nailed it, in my opinion. however, the line "I'm the hero of this story/ Don't need to be saved" resonated hugely with me, as a humanist/atheist. instead of relying on "God" and religion, we need to see that we are the heroes. when you place more responsibility on yourself and make yourself the sole power in your life (not placing anything "in God's hands"), it's amazing what you can accomplish. it's liberating, really. Regina might be using that sort of point of view to show how what we're doing right now isn't working government/structure-wise. |

closingalert: yeah, it sounds like him, but so does the boy singer in tilly...just more nasally or something, i think. however, tilly&thewall have close ties with bright eyes and the omaha scene and have toured with bright eyes, etc. so you're not crazy! love this, but i was kinda sad to see that the lyric is actually "we all could pass right through/ we all have nothing left to lose" cuz i always heard "we all could pass right through/ we all have loved enough to lose" oh well so lovely, happy..."so c'mon baby let's dance" |

love this song... I think it's about a kind of run-of-the-mill relationship that he's in, and how it seems kind of mundane, but he really wants to knock the chick's socks off. like "know that it will start off strong babe, and it will end up weak in the end" -- they both see where it's going, but there is always opportunities to change the course of it all...even if it's a routine, it's sweet. "strong on the horizon, but it ends up being really so sweet" like yeah, we'll have our lulls, it might be boring sometimes, but i want to grow old with you. stick with it, you'll see. just my interpretation, can't make up my mind i guess. maybe i'm over-romanticizing it :P |

I love this song too, surprised there's not more comments. I think it's more of a person that they never got really close to, but they always felt a connection with/were intrigued by them. "my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side" -- so beautiful. almost like he's accepting that they will never be together here, but there's still a love. or something like that. really sad and lovely, maybe it's about someone who died? my opinion anyways. |
