The Presets – Girl and the Sea Lyrics 16 years ago
A boy and a girl love each other.
They're outlaws and have a rich past full of illegal actions.

The girl finds a chance to escape her past actions and start anew somewhere else and realizes that her desire and need to escape exceeds her love for him and she dives beneath the waves and destroys/burns anything from her past (the "night glows" with the remains of her past).

Ingrid Michaelson – Far Away Lyrics 17 years ago
i think that the first scene on the blue bay is her ideal life that she is day dreaming about
whereas the second scene at the bar is the reality that she is dealing with & at the end of that scene she decides "on this bar stool i cant stay" & decides to follow her dreams & create the life she has imagined in the first scene.

Dashboard Confessional – The Secret's In The Telling Lyrics 17 years ago
i agree with athomeintheclouds

adding to that tho-
i think that society doesnt allow them to be together
for example, maybe theyre both in high school - he's shy, quiet, unpopular but she's outgoing beautiful and popular

they dont talk .. but pass just close enough to touch .. they are on the same wavelength, are both very attracted to one another but cannot do anything about it because their love does not conform to each of their lives.

Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2 Lyrics 17 years ago
my interpretation-

the whole form of education nowadays twists our minds and shapes us into the people that our world wants us to be

schools / teachers are adding bricks to the wall
the wall that blocks off our inner selves from shining through

Pink Floyd – Hey You Lyrics 17 years ago
my meaning---

the song expresses the two parts of us > our true self (stuck inside the wall that our surroundings and the world around us have created) and the persona that we display for the rest of the world to see (its not the real you, but only a pawn)

we can see this by the way floyd changes voices - the first voice we hear in the beginning is the pawn persona speaking out to its true self behind the wall - it needs guidance but cannot find it because the wall separates them
the second voice - that starts at "Hey you! out there on the road" - is the voice of our true selves
our inner self begs for the pawn to hear it, but because of the wall.. it cannot
therefore - divided we fall.. we cannot survive if our inner selves and the pawn that we show the world are separated

our world limits our true selves, boxes us in, leaving us with itchy feet (wanting to travel, escape) , but we cannot & the worms eat us away and there is nothing left but the pawn- a diluted nonperson
