Delirious? – Follow Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I love the dynamic range of the song. The break-in on "eyes" is awesome and then in gets soft again for the softer words (e.g. serenade, peace). And then the break-in on "can you hear me" and back out on "when there's no sound"... This is just a really cool song that I love to listen to. |
Seabird – Cottonmouth (Jargon) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This is a catchy song (as are pretty much all of their songs, I'm glad I came across them) that seems to be addressed to someone the narrator of the song knew that was an all around jerk but is now leaving. Pretty straightforward. |
House of Heroes – Remember The Empire Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Such a catchy song. I love the guitar and drum stuff on the bridge. The lyrics are fun, and the vocals are on point. As always. Keep pumping out goodness, guys! |
Mike Mains And The Branches – Miracle Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This song is really catchy, and for some reason reminds me of the good old Newsboys, from back in the day, when Peter Furler was the lead singer. I've been listening to this fairly constantly for the past two or three days. I'm sure it'll get old soon, but for now I really like it. |
House of Heroes – Drown Lyrics | 12 years ago |
House of Heroes has stunning lyrics throughout its songs (thanks to bassist AJ Babcock, who writes most of the lyrics), but this song is just freaking amazing lyrically. And on top of that, it's by House of Heroes, which makes it an awesome song by default. The vocal work is great, the melody works, and the musicianship is truly top notch. |
Switchfoot – Restless Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Also, the third line of the chorus is not "Breathless", at least not as far as I can tell... it sounds like he says "restless" all three times. |
Switchfoot – Restless Lyrics | 12 years ago |
The lyrics here, and the corrected ones in the comments, are missing the start of the second verse (about the "thorn in your side"), which can be seen in hurricanehobo's comment, and heard in this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz4USEBEzgc&feature=related Anyway, this is a pretty nice song. I didn't like it when I first heard it on the radio, but it's begun to grow on me. I like how the lyrics flow so nicely. |
Five Iron Frenzy – Litmus Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"Hold your diving rod up to the speaker." should be: "Hold your divining rod up to the speaker." Anyway, yeah I agree that this is about people who judge bands and decide that you're not Christian enough if your music isn't blatantly Christian, even if it has underlying Christian themes or ideas ("You say preach, they say rock"... why not have some of each, or even a mix of the two?). I also like the line: "You'll never formulate your maker." People think there's a specific formula to how God wants us to worship him and they reject any other type of worship. However, people don't all worship the same way. |
Newsboys – Lost the Plot Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"Take Me To Your Leader" is the album title. Great album overall, I must say. This song itself is great because it hits the nail on the head. "For a time we stuck with the shepherd but you wouldn't play Santa Claus. sigh. Let's be blunt. We're a little distracted. What do you want?" It may be a bit, as they say, blunt, but it's true. God doesn't play Santa Claus, and we get distracted and basically treat God like "What do you want now?" |
House of Heroes – Love Is For The Middle Class Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Great song. Although it is annoying that all the repeated "at all"-s sound like "eat all"... seems weird to say it like that. Anyway, like I said, great song. |
House of Heroes – Disappear Lyrics | 14 years ago |
That sounds right, thanks. I'll update the lyrics with what you suggested. If it's still incorrect, I can change it again later. |
House of Heroes – Elevator Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The last line is "So just shut up about it" (taken from the album lyrics booklet). Also, the (woah) parts are only on the final two choruses. Anyway, thanks for sharing. |
Five Iron Frenzy – Every New Day Lyrics | 14 years ago |
btw, we just looked at the poem The Tyger by William Blake in school today and I was surprised to see that some of the words were the same or similar to some words in this song. Line 5 of the poem, "In what distant deeps or skies", matches FIF's line: "Through distant deeps and skies, behind infinity, below the face of Heaven, he stoops to create me." And lines 17 and 18, "When the stars threw down their spears,/And watered heaven with their tears," match the same words in this song. Just thought I'd point it out. But it's a great song, imo. :) |
House of Heroes – If Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Great song, musically and vocally. "i could be in love, if, you wore that dress everyday. with your hair just so, and your eyes are grey." This line shows the world's view of love: attraction. However, true and sincere love goes beyond physical attraction to the inside. |
House of Heroes – Code Name: Raven Lyrics | 15 years ago |
...I can't think of what real life application this can take. any ideas? |
Hillsong UNITED – Saviour King Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Drags on? It's a worship song. For me, worship should go as long as it can. I love to worship God. So I don't think drag on is proper. It is longer than many other songs, yes, but when I listen to it, I find myself wishing it were longer. :) |
Tenth Avenue North – By Your Side Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Not necessarily; it says "look at these hands and my side that swallowed the grave on that night ... to give you life" When Jesus was crucified, his wrists (aka hands) were pierced when he was nailed to the cross, and they made a hole in his side with a spear, draining the blood and water from his body (showing that he is truly dead, which makes his ressurection all the more amazing!). And he died that we might have eternal life in heaven through him. :) However, yes, it could be seen sort of as having someone there for you. It's just that that someone is Jesus. |
House of Heroes – Leave You Now Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"Ten long years I spent in the sun Where I broke my back to avoid the gun But I never cracked and never gave you up I just did my time for you" Sounds like an accomplice to a crime that never gave up his partner but covered for him and did the time for him. "(How's that for a compliment girl? How's that for a compliment?)" Sorry... but I don't hear that at all...? |
House of Heroes – Lose Control Lyrics | 15 years ago |
actually i've listened to it like four or five times and can't tell... it would make sense to be run rather than roll, but it could be either. But good observation. And you're right, this song is amazing! :) |
House of Heroes – Baby's a Red Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I had the feeling that this was about communists... kinda obvious with the whole "red" bit and the "hammer and sickle" parts. Also all the russian cities kinda gave that away. But this is kind of a random song. Is/was one of the band members actually in love with a commie or is this just random? Either way it's a good song. |
House of Heroes – Serial Sleepers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
hey I hear the "st" part of still right before the guitar but i'd have to turn it up and listen really close to hear the rest. And I need to save my ears. Maybe later. :) But thanks for the cool tidbit! :) |
