| Rammstein – Ich Tu Dir Weh Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Despite popular belief that this song is about torturing someone else, or being about a couple's relationship, it is describing self-mutilation, not mutilation of another person. Whether this is literal or figurative is debatable, but that the relationship is between the mind and body is not. The person is punishing his body for personal reasons, and Rammstein makes this clear several times throughout the song. Ich seh' im Spiegel dein Gesicht is probably the giveaway here. He sees his own face in the mirror. Du bist das Schiff, ich der Kapitän. The body is the vessel, the speaker's mind (also can be seen as the soul) is the narrator who is controlling what is going on. Some other wordplay that most people don't catch on to is "Tut mir nicht leid" means "I'm not sorry," but the words literally mean "It doesn't pain me," so basically hes saying "I do you harm, it doesn't pain me." Rammstein always has double meanings hidden in their work. It is what comes from having a true poet as frontman and songwriter. I love it. |

| Man either this dude has the worst luck or someone's making this stuff up. Between this, the story behind Inside the Fire, and the story behind My Child I'm not sure what to believe anymore. | |

Anyone else feel that this relates to Iran's president publicly denying the holocaust in recent years? These lines make me almost certain of it. It seems like its an ode to him and not just any anti-semite or person who denies the holocaust. You dare to tell me that there never was a holocaust You think that history will leave their memory lost Another Hitler, using fear to control You're going to fail this time, for the world to see Referring to the person as "another Hitler" makes me believe that hes addressing someone in power who uses "fear to control". Also it is someone who is recognized because the whole world will see their failure. The only person I can think of that fits this description and has denied the holocaust is Iran's president. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

Here is my interpretation of the first part. I've heard a lot of explanations that don't make sense, this one can be verified. Tonight, your faith has come down to money & a TV (Basically saying that people worship the dollar and believe what the media says, whether they realize it or not) Psychics who've never been to Mars and Nazi breastfeeding (I've heard some wild interpretations of this line and I assure you there are simple and logical explanations. The first part refers to psychic journeys or "remote viewing" a pseudoscientific phenomenon that has several psychics describing places they never been, especially those that are unlikely to be confirmed [the planet Mars is a favorite]. The second refers to "breastfeeding nazis" a derogatory term for advocates of breastfeeding who believe that bottle feeding adversely affects the infant. You can google these if you want. I think he chooses to say Nazi breastfeeding instead of breastfeeding nazi cause if you're flipping through the channels and seeing different talk show topics you might think they're really talking about literally breastfeeding a nazi if you don't listen to the actual context) I know you must be upset, I can't find meaning I'm sorry, we're sorry, we're all scared, all scared (This is about trying to make sense of it all, people often don't put effort into this or don't know where to look for answers and are in fear of some end that they believe is coming but don't know when) |

| Our Lady Peace – Thief Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The song is about Mina Kim, a young girl from Kitchener, Ontario who was diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous tumor in her brain. Raine Maida and his wife Chantal Kreviazuk met her at a visit to a children's hospital in Toronto, and Chantal can be heard singing with her at the end of the song. Sadly, Mina Kim died in 1999 at age 13. Kreviazuk dedicated her performance at a 2002 B.C. Cancer Foundation benefit concert to the Kim family. | |
| Rammstein – Zerstören (English) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The "King's Discipline" for those that don't know is a translation of Konigsdiziplin which has no direct equivalent in English. It is often used to denote something that is the best. Here it probably is closer to the phrase "To top it all off." | |
| Rammstein – Heirate Mich (English) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| For god sakes its not "The night is hot and we are stripped." It's "The night is hot and we are naked." | |

| This is another song whose meaning is public. It is about lead singer Gavin Rossdale's relationship with ex girlfriend Suze DiMarchi. His exact words are "It was written in the context of half regret, half celebration and just being objective about the situation of coming down from that high and dealing with those intense emotions." | |

| Also the lyrics "Rain dogs howl for the Century" is a nod to Tom Waits and Alan Ginsburg, both of whom Gavin Rossdale is a fan of. Tom Waits has an album and a song named Rain Dogs, and Alan Ginsburg had written a poem named Howl. Reportedly the song in general is about youth culture (not necessarily American youth), so people weren't far off. | |

| I'm not exactly clear on the meaning of the song, but the lines "minnie mouse has grown up a cow" and "dave's on sale again" are a nod to David Bowie's Life on Mars where the lines are similar, "mickey mouse has grown up a cow," and "Lennon's on sale again," respectively. | |
