im not sure what the overall meaning of the song is but the lines " my son you can hold perfection in your arms if you wish" but i sit at the banquet for traitors. i think this is when satan was tempting Jesus telling him he could do whatever he wants but instead jesus would rather sit at the banquet with traitors, between the thief and the liar because thats what jesus came here to do. he came here to save the world not rule it. thats what i think anyway |

i agree with 7500fx and the part "the innocent will rest in the peace they've been given, but i don't get the part where it says painting will sleep on the floor. what could paintings sleeping on the floor represent? |

This is one of my favorite Sleeping Giant songs. so powerful. The last verse pumps me right up lol. i think this song is about no matter how much the world brings you down and mocks you, if you look to christ he will restore your hope and give you strength to keep fighting. thats what i got from it at least. oh and there were a few mistakes: inside them they SILENTLY mean it, and in the second chorus instead of burning with hope it is bringing me hope. |

awesome song! some of the lyrics that should be changed ( at least what i think, i could be wrong...)are: a nation sat on dooms door should be, a nation set on tomb stone. the angels took his sin should be, the angels took us in. your the feet should be, your the thief. some of the ones im not sure about are : the writer left the gates, writer might be rider. and instead of lift receding birth pains it could be live preceding birth pains. just what i think :P but yea this song is obviosly about the return of Jesus |
