Return Lyrics
Awaiting on the last days.
The bold red lettering has set the course.
We lift preceding birth pains.
The earthquakes shake the hands that fight the wars.
Like a stranger in the night,
showers falling from the sky.
The rider left the gates wide open.
Then heaven hums a new song.
The lights grow dim, ohh, ohh.
A nation set on tombstone.
The angels took us in, ohh, ohh.
Be ready for deceivers.
They claim "I am the Christ,"
but have no heart.
Let rest the unbelievers
who deny having a role,
but they've played their part.
Like a stranger in the night,
showers falling from the sky.
The rider shows His face, all glowing.
Then heaven hums a new song.
The lights grow dim, ohh, ohh.
A nation set on tombstone.
The angels took us in, ohh, ohh.
So this is it.
It's how it comes to an end.
Clean us out.
Like the floods that rained in.
You're the thief
in the night, but we stand.
So this is it.
It's how we come to an end.
We'll come.
We'll come.
On the hour that you left us alone.
We're standing firm.
The trumpet sounds.
Then heaven hums a new song.
The lights grow dim, ohh, ohh.
A nation set on tombstone.
The angels took us in, ohh, ohh. (x2)

Well the meaning is pretty obvious...Christ's return. I love this song! And I really love how they incorporated the strings in this song--it sounds really good. I'm glad that they made this song, it really solidifies that they truly are a christian band. I can honestly say that this is one of my favorites by Capital Lights
uhhh i think some of the lyrics are a little off but idk
awesome song! some of the lyrics that should be changed ( at least what i think, i could be wrong...)are: a nation sat on dooms door should be, a nation set on tomb stone. the angels took his sin should be, the angels took us in. your the feet should be, your the thief. some of the ones im not sure about are : the writer left the gates, writer might be rider. and instead of lift receding birth pains it could be live preceding birth pains. just what i think :P but yea this song is obviosly about the return of Jesus
As everyone else pointed out, this is indeed about the return of Christ. Kind of hard to miss that meaning. It's a great song, the one real spiritual song on the cd that claims this band as Christian.
