I love this song! One of my favorites of all time. I would say it is about being in a band, on the road, and missing home. |

I think it could possibly be about waking up from a nightmare. Particularly this part:
"My hands, unfaithful, did not protect me
My voice, transparent, when I need it to scream
What really happened during those nights?
I could not move so I just turned off inside"
Some people, when they wake up from a nightmare, are completely frozen for a moment, unable to talk, scream or move. That's what this song has always reminded me of. |

I'm really surprised there are no comments about this one yet. This is one of my favorite covers of all time by any artist. Always reminded me of the Poe poem "Annabel Lee". |

This is really a beautiful song, the best on the album. Obviously a tribute to New Orleans and the people of the city. Though I generally prefer Tim and Matt vocally over Lars, I think Lars was perfect for this song (Tim does the vocals on the accoustic cd). Interesting fact: the bonus dvd shows this was originally titled "Love Song For New Orleans". |

I love this song. To me it's just about losing yourself in the moment (or drug or drink) while in a club. This song is so smooth and has an incredible bridge. This should have been a huge hit. |

If somebody were to ask what one song sums up growing up a teenager in the Midwest I would tell them it's this song. The cornfields, the woods, the alleys, drive-ins and yes, the backseats. This is where we spent our teenage years. The way he captures the feel of the summer, the storms, the teenage boredom and restlessness is amazing. While not my favorite song of all time, I always say that if I could have written just one song it would be "Night Moves". |

| L7 – Pretend We're Dead Lyrics

I always took this song to be about goths, how they often try so hard to be different but in the end for the most part all look the same. In a way of trying to be an individual with your look you actually put yourself into a group. And the pretend we're dead bit, well, don't really need to explain how that works with my theory. And before any emo's or anybdoy else try to say I am "hating on" goths or any other such nonsense, I was very much into that and the punk scene back when this song actually came out, so don't bother. |

"You're just a little play thing
How come you mean so much to me?"
"No matter what you ask I'm gonna let you down"
Two of my favorite lines from any song. |

"smoke the day's last cigarette, rememberin' what she said" One of my favorite lines ever from a song, reminds me of so many nights from my youth, and though I have not smoked in almost 4 years, I'll be damned if I don't want to smoke one every time I hear this song.

This song is almost a perfect description of a night I spent with a very close female friend of mine. We had been friends for about 5 years, kind of always liked each other but never went beyond friendship. She was going to be leaving for college in less than a week and I knew this would be the last time I would see her before she left and potentionally the last time I would see her for a long time (turned out to be over 10 years). We stayed up all night and watched the sunrise in the morning, and yes, it became a one night stand so to speak. Over 15 years later and I still think of her every time I hear this song. |

Being from Ohio I always thought this song was cool because there are two cities here within probably 10-12 miles of each other called Celina and St. Marys, both on the Grand Lake. |

I think the song is about a kid who runs away and gets mixed up in drugs and crime in 1974, and come 1998 he is grown up and still doing the same stuff, sad that he has not changed his life in all those years. |

The film was actually based on a book of the same name by Humphrey Cobb. The story is loosely based on a true story about 4 French soldiers executed for mutiny during World War 1. I've read the book and it is actually quite good. |

I saw the English translation for this one time and it has something to do with two men wrestling each other. "Das Schutzenfest" means "The Shooting Fest", or shoot fight/wrestling match. |

| Paw – One More Bottle Lyrics

I kind of see this one a bit differently. I think that he is just a normal guy who has a wife that is mean to him, treats him like trash and cheats on him, all of this going on for years, and all of this drives him to drinking. Everything he says after the first verse implies this is not the first time this has happened, he is used to her going out and cheating and he goes out drinking every time she does it. He knows when he gets home she won't be there, that she is going to lie about where she has been when she does come home. He knows he does not have the strength to change her or go on without her and the cycle just continues, just another night, just another bottle. |

I read something from Hennessey where he said this song was about a night he spent at home with his wife (or girlfriend, can't remember), last night at home before he had to go on the road, and they had a nice meal and a great evening and he thought things could never be more perfect than that night. |
