| Chris Cornell – Never Far Away Lyrics | 15 years ago |

| Tortured Soul – Why Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| So he likes this girl that hes good friends with and knows her well enough to see that shes unhappy. He cares about her but can't do anything about it, because she'll think he just wants to get with her. So hes just gonna wait till he breaks up with her boyfriend so he can get wit her on the rebound | |
| Tortured Soul – How's Your Life Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
this song is cool. Its sort of sarcastic but also sad at the same time. i think its about him breaking up with his girl. 3 different ways: 1) Assuming he got dumped by her, hes sort of payin her out cause she left to do things he considers to be less important but hes also kinda jealous, sad and lonely. He also knows she'll probably want him back when shes finished having fun. 2) He dumped her and now hes checkin to see if shes doing alright 3) or he actually cares about her and wants to know that shes ok. |

| Soundgarden – Nothing to Say Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song has changed over time after to listening to it heaps. I kinda agree with OrigGrungeGangsta. Supposing the four letter word is LOVE, its about all the consequences of saying the word love to another person. I think the song is asking why it matters so much that to say it at the right time and why its so important that people mean it when they say it. Also, it could be someone who loves someone telling them they do and then because that person doesn't love in return, they have nothing to say. |

| Alice in Chains – Them Bones Lyrics | 16 years ago |

don't really agree with colubrid660. "Soundgarden is an insult to grunge". Yea, maybe they were, but they're alternative, not grunge, and they're the best band ever. So lets not get too picky about genres. I've always heard "cutting up a big ole pile of them bones". that works better I think. Sounds really messed up and heavy. |

| Alice in Chains – Them Bones Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Agree with all three of those comparisons except alice in chains>Soundgarden cause soundgarden are the greatest band ever |

| Elvis Costello – Radio Radio Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I've never thought about it being about governments. I think its about the actual music being played on the radio. People seem to just listen to the latest band because they think there supposed, regardless of whether it is good or not. This seems to make sense with the line "I wanna bite the hand that feeds me". He's criticizing the music on the radio but his own music also gets played on their too. I think the message in this song is to go out and find the good music that is out there for yourself don't only listen to whats on the radio. |

| Hot Leg – Chickens Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| or if you listen very carefully it all my sounds like the backing vocals are singing "lets just get some chickens" | |
| Hot Leg – Chickens Lyrics | 16 years ago |

actually some would prefer the line "lets just get some chickens" in place of "the clock just keeps on tickin" but leave that up to your own ears |

| Hot Leg – I've Met Jesus Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| wasn't this one released as a christmas song or something? | |
| Fugazi – Suggestion Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The first I heard of this song was a film clip where Ian Mackaye explains what the song is about and talks about how he feels about it. Its about rape (yes marginalman) and how no one wants to talk about it because its such a horrible crime and yet it still goes on. That comes through pretty clear to me with the whole "suffer your words, suffer your eyes, suffer your hands" thing. Also "she does nothing to remove it" and "she does nothing to conceal it". The band are trying to get people to think about rape as a crime that has impacts on everyone, not just the victim. not sure if it was really that successful in sending out that message then, since everyone has missed the point. |

| Soundgarden – Power Trip Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
its definately "king" because of the reference to world leaders bowing down and the pope and of course that it rhymes with "kiss my ring". I've always thought this is about some kind of trojan horse. He wants to become powerful not just out of greed but this robin hood idea of giving something back where it has been taken. The line 'I want to write the magazines the housewifes read' is probably my favourite soundgarden lyric. I like the start of this song where the voice and the lead guitar are playing the melody together and if you think about how loud and high it is its pretty amazing. |
|
| Soundgarden – Hunted Down Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think this is about someone nieve who gets themselves in a situation they can't get out of. Someone who thought they were being really clever and ended up becoming the victim. | |
| Soundgarden – Nothing to Say Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I like everyone elses interpretation of this song. Its pretty heavy. I've always thought that the song is from the perspective of someone who has something to say that is so close to the truth that no one wants to hear it. So by rejecting the truth the other people have "nothing to say". | |
| Elvis Costello – Man Called Uncle Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Another song from Get Happy that no one has commented on! and a classic too! This song is about large age differences in relationships. Particularly about a girl who throws herself at older men. This guy is the master of lyrics. love the first two lines though. sound great when he sings them. |
|
| Elvis Costello – King Horse Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I can't believe no one has commented on this song yet! Its a classic Its basically saying that all air hostesses are bitches under their fake smiles. If you listen to it again "Now I know that you're all King Horse" sounds like "Now I know that you're far-king whores". He pretty much says he can't blame them because they spend they're lives running around at everyones feet. great song though |
