From what I've heard in interviews, Phil, their main lyricist, is not strictly Christian. I believe he was raised in a Christian background, but his views sounded more agnostic, but with values that may also be present in Christianity. I personally think their songs have nothing to do with religion whatsoever. (Well obviously Indictment does, but I'm saying generally.) I think they're more about the power of people. How we have power within us, and a lot of this album sounds like getting people as a whole to band together against tyrants and the other shit in the world. To be strong and prevail for ourselves. No gods included. But truthfully, I doubt this song is strictly about Christianity as the other guy was saying. |

| Saosin – It's So Simple Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I'm pretty sure this isn't what they're talking about, since it only makes sense with the chorus and not the rest of the song.. but I'm going to share anyway It's so simple to be afraid, it's so simple when you know who you are Could mean something along the lines of, you're more likely to admit you're afraid to yourself or anyone else, if you know who you are. It is then simple to be afraid, whereas if you're insecure and don't know yourself, you're like to say "pff, I'm not scared!" But again, I don't think that really makes sense with the song, it's just what it made me think of. |

| Adema – What Doesn't Kill Us Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
These lyrics are so wrong it hurts.. I don't have the booklet or anything, but I think this is at least slightly more accurate. I call you on the phone I sit here all alone and try to find the words that I can't say in less than thirty days we'll both be going our separate ways now there's nothing left that we can fall back on I know I might sound selfish but I can't but I can't help this nobody knows what I've done (I've done wrong) what doesn't kill us makes us (makes us strong) and there's a place that I know (I don't know) what doesn't kill us makes us (makes us strong) There's nothing left for me but paybacks death and destiny where did I go wrong? well I don't know gotta leave and take what's mine wasted youth and wasted time carve this words into my skin so it will show I know I might sound selfish but I can't, I can't help this nobody know what I've done (I've done wrong) what doesn't kill us makes us (makes us strong) and there's a place that I know (I don't know) what doesn't kill us makes us (makes us strong) so give back everything you took from me don't believe in me, you don't care about me I've learned my lesson and it set me free don't believe in me, you don't care about me no! nobody knows what I've done (I've done wrong) what doesn't kill us makes us (makes us strong) and there's a place that I know (I don't know) What doesn't kill us makes us (makes us strong) makes us makes us makes us makes us |

| Hed PE – Bartender Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It totally sounds like he's saying "I want you to cum for me". I was surprised to hear them playing that on the radio.. until I looked up the lyrics. Not as sexual sounding w/o that part. | |
| Atreyu – Wait for You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I feel the need to advocate for Atreyu, because I love them so much... None of their music is shitty! They just do two different kinds of stuff now... softer stuff and harder stuff. Everything before Lead Sails was hard core, and then they went totally soft for Lead Sails, and now they're doing half and half. So just because only some of the songs are in the style that you like, it doesn't mean the band has gone "bad". They're just changing and growing to encompass new styles. I think all their music is great, but that's just me. | |
| Atreyu – So Wrong Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
My favorite off the new album! I definitely made a connection with this song, it makes me think about my boyfriend who I've been apart from for almost two years now, but he was my first love.. I don't know if I heard wrong or if the lyrics on the site are wrong, but I heard it a little bit differently.. I can't help but to go back to it (like think back to the relationship) A flame still burns at the back of it (there's still a passion when I think about him) And although there is a lack of it (there isn't a relationship anymore) I won't forget how You make me feel alive But nothing last forever Yet, something deep inside It takes me home again (But still whenever I think about it it feels like I'm back home, like everything is wonderful and lovely again) Just my take :D Side note: Saw these guys in Chicago Friday night, freaking spectacular live music! |

| Within Temptation – Final Destination Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Does anyone else hear the car accident noise at the beginning, and the sirens in the middle? To make, that makes it seem like she was in a car accident and nearly died, and so she is constantly thinking about how her life could end at any moment. More personally, I had kind of the same experience. But I wasn't in the car accident, and my best friend actually did die in the accident. But it definitely got me thinking about life, and how it could be taken away at any moment. |

| Within Temptation – Somewhere Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I can relate to this song a lot, one of my best friends died a while ago. I have an agnostic kind of view about spirits and afterlife, and after she died I kept finding myself wondering if her spirit still lived, and where it was if it did... And this song sums up how I felt just about perfectly. I highly doubt the Christian view of god/afterlife is true but I kept wishing that it were, so that I knew she'd be okay. "Almost hope you're in heaven so no one can hurt your soul" Just my take on it. | |
| Within Temptation – Aquarius Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Though this comment isn't about the meaning of the song.. I felt like commenting. I love the song as a whole, but what the fuck is with the beginning when she's saying "the taste on my lips, your salty kisses" she sounds weird, like.. southern or something... And I don't like it at all. The rest of the song is great though ^^ | |
| Atreyu – Our Sick Story (Thus Far) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Wow, don't I feel stupid now... for the longest time I thought he was talking about his girlfriend being a lesbian or something... "when you kiss me do you still taste her" as in, she was still tasting, or thinking about the taste of the last person she kissed... But it makes a lot more sense that he was cheating.. >.< |

| Deuce – The One Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Does he have something against homosexuals? O.o | |
| Hollywood Undead – City Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Anyone actually have a thought on what it might be about? In my opinion, it could be about how kids these days are growing more and more hopeless... dropping out of school, giving up on life and what not... "And all the hopes of a youth deemed fucking insane take the pill in god we trust go and kill" "We've been dead since our birth" Though, I'm 14, so I can't really comment from an adults point of view. Also, about how some people think that god is going to just make life okay and we won't have to do anything ourselves. Which is total bull shit in my atheist view ^^ "So now I pray to my nation That's destroyed under God" "But who am I to say Let's all just run away Grab your saints and pray" Basically I think the point is that instead of continuing our downward spiral, we need to burn everything down and start over. By the way, does anyone know about the religious beliefs of the members of Hollywood Undead? :o |
