| Nirvana – Dive (Box Set Version) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Im going to disagree with the baby references...The baby ideas didnt start showing really until in utero. I believe this ties in with the songs he wrote about school. First verse: He was open about disliking jocks. This is probally a recess, or physical education class reference when everyone is lined on the wall to pick teams, and shouting "pick me" because you just hate to be the last pick. He saw this is a shallow and hollow way to be....So as he says, Everyones hollow. Then its down to the last two, him and the fat kid...."im last, your last", here we are alone on the wall while everyone is playing, we will just be on the field. Chorus: Dive in me, in you nothing new. A verbal expression of inner thoughts perhaps? Maybe the fact that he was evolving, while others had the same hollow sense at the age. 2nd Verse: I will say, kiss this kiss that, I will even swallow....has to be about a girl. "Be at ease at least"...Saying, it was fearfull, for him or her, I dont know. I think this song falls into his highschool context of lyrics. When he felt everyone was so out of touch from where he was mentally. |

| Dax Riggs – Demon Tied to a Chair in My Brain Lyrics | 17 years ago |

All elements of death coming around. You have the black bird tapping on the window, a reference on lore to someone going to die. You have mention of the midnight train, yet another reference to coming death. Last but not least, mad shriekin' woman (banshee) also a well know lady like figure, with her scream comes death. The line that is left to question is the one that starts off each verse. Is this demon a feeling he has suppressed within himself that has drove him to insanity? "Sick man smiling at a stray dog in the rain" leads me to believe, that this is meant to come from the mind of a mad man, who is waiting on the coming death, and looking at all the different fabled signs that could point to it. |

| Dax Riggs – A Spinning Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is about living your daily life. Just spinning with no rhyme or reason. THE line that makes this song clear is, my heads in hell on holiday. The artist came from a religious background living with his mother, doing door to door preaching. With this being said, religion was a large part of his thinking at a young age. Anything that pertain to the involved religion is, as you may know, evil. So with carrying out acts of music, hormones, drugs, LIFE....It was a way of showing that as he knew the things he was doing was "evil", it was like a vacation away from the life he was born into and his mother seeded him in. So by saying, my head is in hell on holiday, is saying, "I know this is the evil I hear preached against, but going TO it is like a holiday." It is an escape away. But once that holiday that may have come around evry once in awhile, became habit, Things started spinning out of control, leading to more and more. And what more can stop this, how will it stop other than mans own grave opening up, and he be laid to rest. That is the only true escape. I think through listening to this artist for many years, which I have, you tend to get the idea that he has come to the realization that the only escape from ones self, is indeed, the grave. | |
