Superchunk – Detroit Has a Skyline Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Yeah, hahaha...I was always curious about what those tracks are? |
Pavement – Shady Lane Lyrics | 10 years ago |
It's a file for finger-nails and toe-nails. It gives the voice a rash apparently... |
Pavement – Major Leagues Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This song makes me swoon so hard... |
Teenage Fanclub – My Uptight Life Lyrics | 10 years ago |
All my life, I've felt so uptight now it's all alright (x infinity) But that's alright. |
Modest Mouse – Custom Concern Lyrics | 11 years ago |
This is the only song that really hit me on this album except for "Dramamine" on first listen. This song really hit me hard though. It made me cry a little bit. I didn't think this band was too emo in the conventional sense because they aren't too personal all the time. Their songs are more philosophical or just really about intuitive things. I thought it'd be harder to connect with. Though they have their abrasive and gentle moments alternating sometimes, which is an element of early hardcore/emo in my opinion. This song doesn't really have that, but the guitar, band, and vocals made me sad. Plus, it's just a desolate song about nothingness and routines. The sound evokes the same emotions in a similar way. |
Pavement – Loretta's Scars Lyrics | 11 years ago |
This is one of the most listened to song on my iTunes. It's infectious, and after reading some of the meanings on here, I find it to be a sad song. |
Joan of Arc – The Hands Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Explain water to the fish! |
Joan of Arc – Forensic Economics Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Joan of Arc – Miss Cat Piss and Peppermint Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love the vibes playing the same part and switching...real catchy. |
Joan of Arc – Ne Mosquitoes Pass Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Ha...the lyrics are funny, and this song actually is great too...really haunting and mellow for awhile, yet Tim snaps with the harsh lines at the end. |
Joan of Arc – It If Feels / Good, Do It Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Great catholic parody as a title, and a really solid part from jeremy boyle and the studio musicians. Great Tim performance and lyrics...one of the many great tunes on this album...maybe the best one. |
Joan of Arc – Madelleine Laughing Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love it at 2:34-ish when it starts to rock out, and the line "I've always preferred a theater that men go to sit alone together" |
Joan of Arc – Who's Afraid Of Elizabeth Taylor? Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Really great song...Especially the album version, and it really shows Tim's aspiration to direct...which he did with Orchard Vale. |
Joan of Arc – Mr. Participation Billy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Yes, I noticed that too...Billy isn't biblical tho...haha. |

Owen – Put Your Hands On Me, My Love Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"It's the little things that we do that mean anything" always really gets me. I love the whole aura throughout the whole song...especially the slightly bass and arpeggios after this particular line. |
Make Believe – (I Can't Understand) Satisfaction Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Obvious parody with a twist on self-gratification. Interestingly at a christian camp, counsellors used this same argument against masterbation...good times. "If you think about it, it's gay." |
Make Believe – Anything/Sell That Thing Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Awesome. Good observations. Thanks, this is my favorite song on Of Course or Another Song About Camping. |
