| I also think it's about a relationship that started off as something purely sexual but then evolved into something more. | |

Well damn, I thought this song was about getting an orgasm...you know, reaching "climax." When you read the lyrics over with that in mind, it makes sense. A few subtly suggestive lyrics: "with you im a rocketeer..." "got a jetpack with your name on it" "got me stuck off the way you glow. I'm like, oh, oh, oh, oh..." I mean seriously, I can't be the only one who sees this. |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Torture Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| To me, the song is Anthony being defiant in the face of disaster. It's like he's yelling to the universe "yeah I feel shitty, yeah rock is dying, but you know what? F**k it, I'm not gonna let it bring me down!" | |
| Muse – I Belong to You/Mon Coeur S'Ouvre a Ta Voix Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Isn't "Reponds a ma tendresse" "respond to my touch"? | |
| Muse – Easily Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
You sure it's not just about a one night stand? Atleast something that was meant to be a one night stand. Let your inhibitions go, Make every touch electrical, (hey, I don't know you and you don't know me but let's screw anyway.) I wanna touch you deep inside, And find the secrets that you hide, (he wants to ahem, "touch her deep inside" and find a certain place...) Easily forgotten love, Easily forgotten love, It's not so easily. (the chorus is the guy trying to convince himself that she's just a one night stand but one side of his mind refuses to forget her.) I just want to let you know, My mind refuses to let you go, I wanna hypnotize you so, You will remember me. (he knows that the woman only sees this as a one night stand so all he can do is hope) |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Readymade Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The meaning of the word "readymade" (according to dictionary.com) is: an everyday manufactured object, as a bottle rack, a snow shovel, a urinal, or a comb, that may by the creative act of selection and designation by an artist attain status as a work of art: associated almost exclusively with the aesthetic activities of Marcel Duchamp during the period 1915 to 1917. I think the song illustrates what the artist thinks about music in general: it is an everyday manufactured object that is turned into a work of art. |

| OutKast – Roses (feat. Big Boi) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Maybe he isn't being sexist when he used the word "bitch" cuz the girl he was talking about a girl acting like a bitch rather than saying all women are bitches. | |
| Muse – Sing for Absolution Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| That's also another great (yet morbid) interpretation of the song. I definitly wouldn't have thought of that. | |
| Muse – Sing for Absolution Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I like your interpretation. The crime that you speak of is the guy being too slow in catching the attention of his beloved. "Lips are turning blue" probably symbolozes the beloved's inaccessability to the guy (it's generally taboo to mess around with someone who is taken just like it's taboo to kiss a dead person). | |
| Muse – Eternally Missed Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I fully agree with your interpretation. I want to add that the repetition of the verses may also be symbolic: the guy is repeating it over and over again to convince himself that what they are doing is ok. The last part of the song (where it weakly slows down) shows how his feelings are slowly numbing. | |
| Muse – Supermassive Black Hole Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The song is a about a man who falls in love with a superstar who, at first, seems completely perfect. He is so in love with her that he becomes obsessed. After a while, he realizes that who he was in love with was not exactly the girl herself, but an illusion caused by his fantasies. This superstar in reality is a black hole that the guy can't help but be sucked into. -The end :P |
