Illyria257 - "Now or never seems to discard" links to the previous statement. I believe that he is saying that Love last's forever so someone declaring that thier love is "now or never" completely "discards" the whole point and meaning of love and therefore that person doesn't actually love. This is just my opinion andc everyone interprets things differently but i really feel this right. |

| Blakeemail is right - If you go to the Daughtry website there is a video where Chris explains that its about a guy trying to run away from his problems, so he gets in his car and goes, but then he pulls over on the shoulder of a road and wonders whether thats actually a good idea, then when he reaches the tennessee line he realises that his problems are just going to follow him and that he needs to confront them - so he turns back around. | |

The song is actually called "We Close Our Eyes" not 'We Closed our eyes' Also its... "We close our eyes to see the final flame" not "We close our eyes to see the final frame" As for the meaning I sort of agree with DAVIDINTEL but i think theres more to it than that aswell. |

"once again tracy demonstrates power without seeming like a bully. this is one of my favorites" annaS I completely agree, a lot of power, yet she isnt screaming or anything she's simply using the music, the lyrics, and her incredible voice all together to create a lot of power! this is also one of my favorite Tracy Chapman songs. |

Some of these lyrics are wrong they should be.... "Now I wont ever get the time or day" is actually "Now I won't ever get the time of day" "If she listens say I miss her, Everything about her," is "If she listens say, i'm missin everything about her" "She said that she was born and leave this down to her" is "she said that she was born to leave this town behind" Not sure yet what the meaning is above the obvious. |
