I know the song is about suicide, but like most songs it can be interpreted a variety of ways, depending on the mindset of the person interpreting it. Like, when I hear this song, rather than suicide(something negative), I see it as about someone going away in hopes to return a better person such as going to rehab to get over an addiction. and all the lines about solitude and "don't follow me" could only mean that he needs to be alone during that time.
I know that's not what they originally made that song out to be, but that's what I get out of it. |

you people are idiots. just because the face value of the words are about murder/finding the body, that's not the meaning of the song. Scott Weiland is too good of a songwriter to have a song have one definite face value interpretation. (not that you'd even have to be a good songwriter to write a multilayered song that could be interpreted many ways.) |

you people saying it is ABOUT that death, IIRC they were INSPIRED by the news story. You can be inspired by a flower and write a song that mainly revolves around a flower, but it doesn't have to be ABOUT a flower. |
