This is gonna be lengthy but if you realy wanna know what this song's about read this!!!!

this song is written like a suicied letter (if you haven't noticed read it again). It is about M Shadows best friend, Justin Sane(former A7X bass player) who had severe depression and tried to commit suicide by drinking bottles of cough syrup.

"sorrow sank deep inside my blood" that's depression. it's rummored that part of a suicide letter that Justin wrote to Shadows is included in the song (although A7X neither aknowleges or denies it) . ppl think if any part of the song is of justins' penmenship it's> "but I can't see myself that way. please don't forget me or cry while I'm away"

In the song 'justin' says he's 'setting himself free' and 'don't blame yourself or cry for me'

an interesting line in the song is "so far away i've gone. please don't follow me tonight" I think this is part of justin's suicde letter b/c it's only something a suicidal person could possibly think of.
In the song you'll notice he worries significanly about how the people he loved would react. asking Shadows 'not to follow him'

"No more breath inside, essence left my heart tonight."> the most powerful lyrics i've ever heard. and i am a huge music buff. but nothing, no poetry, no song lyrics can even hold a candle to the power of those few lyrics. : (

This is one of the best suicide songs ever written, but who can compare to the lyrics written by davey havok......

I know the song is about suicide, but like most songs it can be interpreted a variety of ways, depending on the mindset of the person interpreting it. Like, when I hear this song, rather than suicide(something negative), I see it as about someone going away in hopes to return a better person such as going to rehab to get over an addiction. and all the lines about solitude and "don't follow me" could only mean that he needs to be alone during that time.

I know that's not what they originally made that song out to be, but that's what I get out of it.

it's even better than Atreyu's 'LipGloss and Black'

The only way to describe this song is... and excuse my language... Fucking Masterpeice. No one has ever come close to wrtiing something so pure and amazing and close to the heart. Artist write about suicide all the time. But nothing has ever surpassed (and never will) the mark that Matthew Sanders hit when he and the guys put this together. Every word that drips out of Shadows' mouth sends chills up your spine and a tear down your eye. This is one no A7X fans will ever forget. You can get a true feeling of the emotions that someone goes through while dealing with a situation where you feel like you can no longer make it. Even more emotion pours out of Part 2 which is another monster of a song. A7X for life! Love it or die!!!

Amazing song!!! One of the best on this album (but which one isn't good??)

this song is a masterpiece. i especially like the "no more breath inside, essence left my heart tonight" part and the build-up to it.

This song brings a tear to my eye everytime I hear it, due to events that have taken place in my life. The best song by A7X yet.
