| The Fray – Never Say Never Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think that 'Some things we don't talk about,Rather do without and just hold the smile' is talking about how in life sometimes things that upset you, you don't talk about, and imagine they aren't there, but keep that fake smile plastered on your face. 'Falling in and out of love, Ashamed and proud of, together all the while' being so confused and indecisive on your own views towards things - one day you love someone, the next you don't, and so on. 'You can never say never, While we don't know when, But time and time again, Younger now than we were before' I think this is about how we never know anything for sure, and that things can change so you should never say never, and younger than before - we are constantly put in situations where we know so little, it's like being a child again. 'Don't let me go' I think here he is pleading with reason and rationality, possibly the only person that he has never had these fluctuating feelings about, or perhaps, saying to someone - at the minute i hate you, but I know I can't live without you, so don't let me go. 'Picture you're the queen of everything, Far as the eye can see under your command,' I think here he is thinking about how amazing things could be if you did have all control over our lives... 'I will be your guardian when all is crumbling, I'll steady your hand.' ... But we don't so he'll be there for her when things don't go as she planned. 'We're pulling apart and coming together again and again, We're growing apart but we pull it together, Pull it together again' Here it's saying again how things change, and how there are always unplanned and unexpected elements in life. And also how peoples feelings change towards things every day. 'Don't let me go' - i think he's saying this because at the end of the day 'in the end I need you'. |

I think you can adapt this song to any situation, as it generalises quite a bit. 'I know exactly how you feel, You were this close to closing deals Now everything fell from out your hands, You were forced to decide on other plans' I think this starts with sympathy, with the feeling of you are not alone. And then is about how a choice you made wasn't neccessarily yours and so you had to settle for second best. 'now You figured it best to just ignore it, Otherwise, oh, you're just living for it,' And then ignoring most of the decision made, otherwise that choice becomes a part of you And because you didn't chose it, you don't want it to be part of your identity. 'And if anyone ever wondered why you did it, you'd swear they'd never know you sold your soul to the burning, burning, burning bridges.' this is how no one knows that it wasnt your choice and how much the after effects are hurting you. 'You know exactly what I want so I don't have to be so damn up front' This is literally the only person who knows and understands what you feel about what has happened, so you don't have to make up any false fronts. 'No matter the moment where we decide to make our minds up I'll know a man who may need a new assignment to hand in his heart and take his last vacation attempting to spoil imagination' It think that this is about someone else that has to take the 'plunge' and stop messing around and get on with life and face facts, 'If anyone ever wonders where he went I wouldn't say that he spent his time driving over burning, burning, burning bridges.' but at the same time, wishing that you yourself didn't have to feel that he has to do this. 'burning, burning which is nothing more than the longing for being uninvolved.' this is about not wanting to be part of the real world and wanting to escape reality and all the things you have done wrong in the past. 'oh, desire can cause heart attacks. and desire.. it won't bring you back' I think that this is saying that not literally a heart attack, but a burst of I want what i cant have, except that wont bring back the options you didnt take.. But this is just my opinion of the song. |

| Matt Nathanson – Wedding Dress Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
so we lie here in the dark all the wrong things on fire sickness and in health just to be with you just to be with you I think that this might be saying that 'we lie here in the dark, wrong things on fire' that they are both in the dark, they don't really know much about each other. And the things they love about each other aren't neccessarily the things that will make them stay together. But i also think it is literally lying there, and not having the right things to say. Him reassuring himself - just be with her. in your wedding dress to have and to hold even at my best I want to let go I think that here he is seeing her in her wedding dress, and even now, when they are going to get married, and he has put himself in a positive state of mind, he can still easily walk away, and that choice is very attractive. and you hold me in your arms and all that I can see is my future in your hands with all that I can feel is how long ever after is its all that I can do to be with you just to be with you He knows that walking away means starting again, so he stays with her, and everytime they touch, he's thinking about how long it will be. 'its all that i can do' saying that he has been pressured into doing this and it wasn't his choice. in your wedding dress to have and to hold even at my best I want to let go and I lost you thought I lost you (I gave you away) thought I'd lost you jealous of the moon for how it moves the waves He is saying that he thought that he lost her. But then 'i gave you away' she wasn't taken, he gave her. He is jealous of the moon for being so powerful and able to change things, which he can't. in your wedding dress to have and to hold even at my best I want to let go and I want to be somebody else now and I want to thicken my skin and I want to wish it all just wish it all away again As it gets nearer, he is wishing more and more that he is someone else, and thicken his skin so he is tougher and more able to cope with this, and he wants to have the power to wish it away, and leave. |

| John Mayer – Free Fallin' (Tom Petty cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
'She's a good girl, loves her mama Loves Jesus and America too Shes a good girl, crazy bout Elvis Loves horses and her boyfriend too' I think this is saying that she is perfect, the female equivalent of the American dream. 'It's a long day living in reseda There's a freeway runnin through the yard I'm a bad boy cause I don't even miss her I'm a bad boy for breakin her heart' He left her, and because he lives in an uneventful area and there are just long lony days, he has time to think about it, and the fact that he left, but doesn't miss her. 'And I'm free, free fallin, fallin Yeah I'm free, free fallin, fallin' I think that the words of the chorus are saying that he lets himself get lost in these thoughts. 'All the vampires walkin through the valley They move west down ventura boulevard And all the bad boys are standing in the shadows And the good girls are home with broken hearts' I think that vampires are his way of saying memories, or unresolved issues. By going west they are effectively travelling out of their lives. All the boys are too scared to be seen, so they stand in the shadows where they are less visible, hiding. All the girls are at home with broken hearts. And I'm free, free fallin, fallin Now I'm free, free fallin, fallin Free fallin, now I'm free fallin, now I'm Free fallin, now I'm free fallin, now I'm 'I wanna glide down over mulholland I wanna write her name in the sky Wanna free fall out into nothin Gonna leave this world for a while' He realises that just by thinking about her this much, he really does miss her. And gives into those feelings. And I'm free, free fallin' Yeah I'm free, free fallin' |

| Matt Nathanson – Car Crash Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think that the first verse is about those nights when you can't sleep, And you can hear things going through your mind, And then those few moments of happiness come before you remember again. 'I wanna feel a car crash, I wanna feel it capsize I wanna feel a bomb drop, the earth stop, till I'm satisfied... cause I'm dying on the inside I wanna let go and know that I'll be alright, alright.' I think that this is saying that he is bottling up so many emotions, that he has collective over a long period of time, reached breaking point, and now wishes that something could happen so he could let them go, however, the second verse of the chorus to me seems like he is questioning his faith in god. Because he says 'I wanna let go and know that I'll be alright' It's like he wants to let go of the steering wheel of his life and have total trust, but by sayign thats what he wants, he's saying, that maybe he doesn't have that much faith. Then in the second verse, he's reiterating the fact that he wants to be pushed to the edge, so he can let go of his emotions 'nothing dims these stars' its that feeling of 'how come you never feel sad?' But by saying they're stars, in a way it's admiration. |

| Matchbox Twenty – If You're Gone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think that the whole point of this song is that point where you can't stay the same, but is it worth moving forward. You could have everything, or risk it all. Is it worth losing them? Or you could go backwards, but then you may as well declare out. | |

| Jason Mraz – Plane Goes Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I have a totally different view of this song, I think that his relationship has just ended, or is ending and he has left on a plane, by saying 'if the plane goes down, damn, I'll remember where the love was found' I think he's saying that if the relationship ends, whatever, but I'll remember what it was like before we got here. Or he could be on a plane, thinking this. Then, when he says 'damn, I should be so lucky...need you so much' He has got to the point where he is thinking that maybe he's doing thia wrong, he should not have left. You know that point where you think 'maybe I should turn around, I shouldn't be doing this'? But then he's thinking that he can't wait to hear her reaction when he tells her where he is. Then he's saying that he wants her, no he doesn't, that she's hurt him, but he could be easily hurt, people do that. That he is walking away reluctantly, but he does want to walk away. But he doesn't want to hurt her. Maybe by saying high, he is literally saying the more she does this, the more he'll do this, leaving him high/on a high. Just a thought on a different interpretation. |

| Jason Mraz – A Beautiful Mess Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think what the whole song is saying that this relationship is so perfect, but there is an element that is wrong, be it the time, place or people. It doesn't suit. Therefore I think that by saying 'picking up trash in dresses' means that doing these things separately is fine, but when you do them together, it doesn't make sense, a dress is associated with dressing to be smart, and why would you wear a dress for picking up trash? Basically there is something wrong in the relationship. | |
| Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – I-Spy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Sorry, don't agree with you,I think he's saying that people care too much, and maybe we should just go along with it and stop criticising and thinking. | |
