Radiohead – Jigsaw Falling into Place Lyrics 17 years ago
Meh, unfortunately this was one of those songs that I liked until I read the lyrics.
Something about the lyrics kinda piss me off for some reason, although I can't really put my finger on it...

Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer – Riding Trains in November Lyrics 17 years ago
I agree; this is hands down my favorite Zolof song.
The lyrics remind me of when I was a teenager in high school.

Neutral Milk Hotel – Two-Headed Boy Lyrics 17 years ago
I reread the Diary of Anne Frank recently, and seeing how her life is supposed to be a theme in this song, I remember that before she met the Peter she lived with while she was in hiding, she had a crush on another boy who was also named Peter.
I also remember her saying that when she was with Peter (the one she was in hiding with), he reminded her of the other Peter.

Maybe Two-Headed Boy refers to the two Peters and the intertwining of their beings in Anne's mind.
Just a thought.

N.W.A. – I'd Rather Fuck You Lyrics 17 years ago
These are the types of songs NWA makes that I don't like.

Express Yourself, Appetite For Destruction, Straight Outta Compton, F*** the Police, Gangsta Gangsta, that's the good music.

Fefe Dobson – If I Was a Guy Lyrics 17 years ago
This song could easily be compared to Ciara's "Just Like a Boy" or Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy."
She's just explaining what type of person she'd be with she were a guy, at the same time kind of giving insight as to how guys often treat girls like sh**.

Fefe Dobson – Hole Lyrics 17 years ago
I heard that Courtney Love worked with Fefe on this album, which explains why this song sounds like it came right off of Hole's Celebrity Skin.
Fefe has also said that Celebrity Skin was one of her favorite albums.

Fefe Dobson – Revolution Song Lyrics 17 years ago
I think in this song, I think breaking away from a bad relationship and finding strength within yourself is metaphorically compared to an actual revolution, or battle.

I like her vocals in this song.

Björk – Gloomy Sunday Lyrics 17 years ago
Has anyone heard Lydia Lunch's version of "Gloomy Sunday?"
It was pretty good too, but not as good as Billie Holiday's.

Queen Adreena – Madraykin Lyrics 17 years ago
I really like the bass in the beginning.
Probably my favorite song on Taxidermy.

Cat Power – Back of Your Head Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm probably totally wrong,

but everytime I hear this song, I think of someone who has a friend who's a bit of a daredevil - "Big monster lover."
And then maybe the friend is under the influence of drugs or alcohol - "See you looking through me like you've unzipped the zipper... can't you see we're going to hell,"
and then trying to drive while still under the influence with the other person in the passenger seat, which causes a car accident which the friend does not survive - "Couldn't park that fucking car, couldn't part from you."
At some point in time, the friend's mother finds them and seeing the severity of the injuries thinks both people are dead - "Saw the back of your sweet mother's head, now I know that she thinks I am dead."

I don't know. Maybe I came up with that interpretation because one of my good friends in high school died in a car accident because she was drunk.
Still, my favorite song from Moon Pix.

Cat Power – Faces Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is about having a pessimistic view on life -
"Looking out across the next few days
I can see, nothing
Looking out across the next few year
I can see, they're gonna go by fast"
-and-
"I'm not made of successful things"

And ultimately being so depressed that you isolate yourself from the rest of the world -
"Looking out across my family members
I know they miss me
I know they must miss me
Never had a lot of fun
Better things to do around the house"

surprised no one commented on this song yet. it's one of my favorite Cat Power songs.

Amanda Palmer – Runs in the Family Lyrics 17 years ago
The first part:

My friend has problems with winter and autumn.
They give him prescriptions, they shine bright lights on him.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it, but sometimes you're born with it.

I think Amanda may be referring to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD); depression caused by lack of sunlight. People with SAD are usually affected the worst during winter in autumn, and are usually given treatment for it by shining a specially designed lamp into the person's eyes.

Not my favorite song, but it's okay.
