Panic! at the Disco – A minute of perfection was worth the effort. A moment was the most you could ever expect from perfection. Lyrics 15 years ago
I guess it was Tyler Durden (as in, THE Tyler Durden - the cool one.)
I just looked it up. :/

Yeah, it's definitely Fight Club. I read most of Palahniuk's books a long time ago, and I still remember that. XD
I'm also sure it was the narrator who said that, so it's not Tyler Durden (but it is, but you get what I mean, lol)

Bright Eyes – When the President Talks to God Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, I remember someone talking about the song's lack of interesting guitar lines or something, although I'm too lazy to recall who, exactly, I have something moderately important to say to that.
Because Bright Eyes' and Conor Oberst's music is very folkish (hence why they compare him to folk legend Bob Dylan), the songs tend to be simple because that's just folk music, you know? Things are supposed to be kept simple, clean and fresh, just how folk has always been. It doesn't need fancy guitar riffs and challenging vocals because it's more poetry than anything else. I almost consider Conor Oberst as more of a writer-type icon than anything else; his music is just a nice addition to his breath taking writing.
