| L'arc-en-ciel – Driver's High Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Yeah, maybe it's not the same as their other songs, but I do like it anyway. And I don't know why, but it has a kinda nice heat and summer mood to it. |

| Rilo Kiley – A Town Called Luckey Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Think I'm kinda late for the discussion proposed by A_MovieScriptEnding, but I have found this song a couple of days ago and pretty much liked it. I find this song very similar in style, and a bit in lyrics, similar to "Does he Love You?", so powerful and desperate. Another hint that lets you know it's Rilo's is Jenny's unmistakable scream when she says "A stormcloud, a hurricane if you will / A stormcloud, a hurricane" It reminds me of "Jenny, you Are Barely Alive". And wefoundthelight, you are absolutely right, the first thing that came to my mind when I heard "a splendid man with a moustache on both sides, nothing in-between" was the very image of Blake! |

| Rilo Kiley – Science vs. Romance Lyrics | 16 years ago |

midouw, I take my hat off to you, that explanation was brilliant! I also do think it's very closely connected to wires and waves. The final verse definetly shows she's talking in some way about computers, and "It's cold out there, but I'm telling you / I'm lonely too" is where we know for sure it's about a long distance relationship. What I don't know exactly is what she means when she talks about test sites and crash sites, I don't think she is literally refering to websites. Anyhow, an amazing song in all its aspects. My favorite Rilo Kiley song. |

| Ozma – Last Dance Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's funny, the album starts with "chances last a finite time" and end with "after the last dance you loose your last chance". Thse people are clever. | |
| Kevin Johansen – Guacamole Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Disagree :) Tough I haven't listened to most of the album (and tough I'm a vegetarian) I love this song, lots of parts don't make exact sense, but they are so damn funny! If you haven't done it yet, watch the video, it's excellent. Y termino el comentario en español, ¡porque el Kevin es argentino, carajo! :) |

| Ozma – Come Home Andrea Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Not one of my favorites, but a very good song anyway. The first time I heard "I can be a whore for you and you can dance for me, no money exchanged if we ask the same fee" I could avoid smiling, it may be a bit... prostitutive, but it's clever clever clever. And I love "it helps if I bide my time with a sad sad song" |

| Ozma – So Down Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
If it wasn't because they have it for download at their site, I wouldn't have known about this one, it's very rare. Although the sound quality isn't very good (well, maybe it's just lo-fi, who knows), I kinda like the lyrics and the melody, it goes from happy to sad in two seconds. I read somewhere that the censored part talked about immigrants, which many people found offensive, but it wasn't at all, as Ryen explained in the OzmaFansForums (and really, when you see what it says, it's harmless). |

| Ween – Buenas Tardes Amigo Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The first time I listened to it I thought it was a joke of a song. Then I realized it was in fact amazing, not only the plot (tough not a masterpiece) blew me away, like you said, with all its subtleties, but the Mexican desert atmosphere it creates with the guitars and hand claps, and the air of mystery highlighted by the synths are memorable too. Buenas... noches... amigos :) |

| Weezer – Slob Lyrics | 16 years ago |

"Oh my god. The guitars, Rivers' voice... I wanna have sex with this song." hahaha, good one reiko7176. It's been a long time since I last listened to this one,but I liked it a lot. I always thought it was about the press and the critics, always pointing his flaws and picking on him just because, based on this part: "Don't hang out in my den Waiting for little proofs to appear That I drank some of grandaddy's beer" But most of the comments I've read above about the parents-son relationship, or that the lyrics are just literal, make perfect sense. By the way, doesn't it be "clues" instead of "proofs" in the above fragment? |

| Weezer – Hollow Leg Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I don't know if it is Weezer's or not, but I could have as well been, because Rivers had really a hollow leg in the Pinkerton era. | |
| Weezer – Cold Dark World Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"I will protect you, never disrespect you But if you love then I'll be here to sex you" Completely out of place, but that's what we love about Rivers, he's being all sweet and nice and then comes with a "I wonder how you touch yourself" that makes you open your eyes in utter astonishment. |

Just a very shallow but funny song. "Yo quiero ser tu negro del camión" is a one of the most amusing things you could ever hear :) |

| Ozma – Just Tell Me When Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song reminds me how great the other Ozma's songs are :p | |
| Ozma – Eponine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
True, it is from Les Misérables, but the connections don't end there. Apart from "every revolution ends in casualty", that refers to the failed uprising that took place in Paris in 1832, in which most of its protagonists died, there are other references to the novel. if you haven't read the novel yet and plan to do so, come here later, I don't want to spoil anything :) "a crush can never be resolved" Eponine had a crush on Marius, but she could never tell him. "it seems like every resolution ends in tragedy", well in the novel it happens just that, but I think it specially refers to Eponine's death to save Marius. "before you go, just these last words for you, I love you so, and love can bring an end to all your woe", Eponine's last wish was that Marius kissed her forehead before she died, and he granted that wish (although he didn't love her). I'm not sure if the song is supposed to be sung from Marius to Eponine, or it's just a tribute from Daniel Brummel to her, but one thing I know is I love this song. It made me read Les Misérables, and I loved it too. |

| Ozma – You Know The Story Lyrics | 17 years ago |

My favorite part is "i asked her out, she gave me looks i've only seen on mean old crooks.", it's very graphical :) by the way, I love the *trilogy* of You Know the Story-Flight of Yuri Gagarin-Landing of Yuri Gagarin |

| Les Cowboys Fringants – Toune D'automne Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|

| Weezer – Ain't Got Much Time Lyrics | 17 years ago |

yes, they have. "i can't believe those words everyday" becomes "I can't believe this world is gonna die" "i can't believe these words so many times" becomes "I can't believe this world is gonna end" |

| The Rentals – The Love I'm Searching For Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
agree with the people who posted before me: you can't help but to feel good when you hear this song. It sort of reminds me of ozma lyrics, which despite being usually sad, are hopeful. "I don't think, I'll find the love I want The love I'm searching for in this machine, oh" don't know why, but sounds like Internet dating sites :) and nice story, TimeIsPrecious! |

| Weezer – Who You Callin' Bitch? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song alone is not that good, but it's funny to hear it after Blast Off!, which ends with "She's actually a good girl, or at least a cheap ho..." :) By the way, shouldn't this one be under Rivers Cuomo? |
