| Mae – Night/Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Mae writes, "As we move forward from the beginning of the year into the summer and eventually the fall, we will see our hard work turn into something that can be seen more and more. It will turn into something that will affect peoples' lives for the better. That is exactly what "Night/Day" is about. The song is a focus on the moment that is the transition from resignation to motivation; from the darkness of indolence to the new light of action." (From the "Read This" file from the digital download.) I love this song. It's now my pick-me-up song on a bad day when things go wrong. What it means to me is that we have to start every day new by taking control and moving forward. There is always progress to be made if we take the opportunities and chances to change. GO DONATE AND DOWNLOAD THE SONG from whatismae.com! :) The digital booklet that comes with is so beautiful. The lyrics are split up into night and day (starting at "I wait, I wait, I wait only in jest") so very cleverly, and the artwork is beautiful. Truly a Multisensory Aesthetic Experience. :) |

| The Appleseed Cast – On Sidewalks Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Oddly, this song reminds me of Harry Potter... the third book, with the scene in the forest when Harry does a Patronus spell to protect himself and Sirius. | |
| The Appleseed Cast – The Road West Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I definitely has to say, this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It invokes so many different emotions.. | |
| Mae – A Melody, The Memory Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Hmm.. Does anyone else think that this song is about the old Mae? Not entirely, but maybe some parts of the song. "A Melody, The Memory" is an amazing song, and I truly love it. Lyrically, it's very simple, and melodically, it's so beautiful! But the lyrics bring up some bad memories of mine. :( Either way, I think it's great. |

| The Starting Line – Birds Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's actually "OR there's gotta be something," according to the booklet. | |
| Mae – Boomerang Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I really love this song. They're developing their own sound, not adapting another's. I've really liked the last few songs that they've released--"Embers and Envelopes" (new version), "Somewhere," "The House That Fire Built," and lastly, "Boomerang"! Boomerang sounds really different from old Mae, but I still think that it's great. :) Highly anticipating the next few songs from Mae! :D |

| The Ataris – The Cheyenne Line Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Hmm... The Ataris has changed so dramatically.. Maybe not exactly for the best, but not for the worst either. This song is pretty good. I'm just not sure about the ones before this one. | |
| Mae – Futuro Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song sounds so inspiring.. I find that even without words, instrumental songs tend to be some of the most profound and emotional songs ever. To me, this song sounds like growing up and making yourself a better person, or perhaps the start of a new day (it's a great song to set your alarm to!). | |
| Mae – Embers and Envelopes (2008) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song is the most amazing song I've ever heard. It sounds like magic... like love. It's not at all like the original, which is a great thing because I thought that the original version was a little bit plain. What I found strange strange was that they took the religious reference of the original version out of the song. "Let's look ahead and then we'll see the One whose glory never ends" was changed to "Let's look ahead and then we'll see the path, and for us this is where it ends." I wonder why.. |

| Copeland – Not Allowed Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I think it's: Here you go I'll smile for you now, 'Cause you're sad but I'm not allowed to be sad Here we go I'll make a joke for you now, make you smile But I'm not allowed to be sad And: Felt no pain and didn't ever want to wonder why. This song really hits me, emotionally.. |

| Copeland – The Day I Lost My Voice (The Suitcase Song) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's It's sure as the floor 'neath my toes And somehow not surprised That I was superimposed, somehow in this life And if my friends and my foes would just drop me a line, it'd be nice. And then: I've got my life in a suitcase, I'm ready to run, run, run away.. I've got no time, 'cause I'm always trying to run, run, run away 'Cause everyday in here feels like it's only a game. I've got my life in a suitcase, a suitcase, a suitcase... Then: What could be an anchor here, with a storm on the rise, When you never meant to see so clear, when smoke gets in your eyes And the men in the moon never makes his replies Understood I love this song. :] It's one of my favorites on the new album! |
