The Cheyenne Line Lyrics

In silence, I like to think aloud.
You say this is the end.
I know it's not the end.
I took a picture of heaven when we broke down
Across the Cheyenne Line.
I never will forget
The color of that sky and all the lights.

We missed the point of living
So caught up in this moment.
We threw out all convictions
And traded them for substance.
This life you hold so near will fade in time.

And so it goes.
No, we won't let go.
If you are alive, then be truly alive.
Just open up your eyes. Pay attention to the signs.
The color of this sky, an endless night.

We missed the point of living
So caught up in this moment.
We threw out all convictions
And traded them for substance.
This life we hold so near will fade in time.

Spent wasted on that line.
It's time you found some frame of mind.
This life you hold so near will fade in time.

We missed the point of living
So caught up in this moment.
We threw out all convictions
And traded them for substance.
This life we hold so near.
And so it goes, no, we won't let go.
And so it goes. No, we won't let go.
This life you hold so near will fade in time.

I think it's "rode down" not "broke down"

good song, i think its about how kris was going through some hard times with his divorce and hes saying how he got caught up in that so much that he forgot what having a good time is about.

" We missed the point of living So caught up in this moment. We threw out all convictions And traded them for substance. This life we hold so near will fade in time."

I think AtarisRoCk is pretty much dead-on. I think Kris is simply paralleling his own experience to the construction of the Cheyenne rail line - the company was so hellbent on completing the line that they lost sight of other companies taking over it, eventually buying out the Kansas rail.

Anywho. Hope that helps

Hmm... The Ataris has changed so dramatically.. Maybe not exactly for the best, but not for the worst either. This song is pretty good. I'm just not sure about the ones before this one.
