| The Word Alive – Astral Plane Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| definitely seems like its a song about being lost, having life not go as planned, questioning everything that is and was. great track | |
| I Am the Avalanche – Is This Really Happening Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| not totally sure but it seems like its about how he has finally found love. the opening verse kind of seems like, he knows this girl who is way too good for him and he is broken and lost and he really wants the girl. and then the chorus, "is this really happening the sun's finally shinning down on me" says like finally he has found love and they are together and brighter days are ahead of him. the snow melting part is maybe like a reference to him being cold and alone for so long? not sure but that's what i make of this song. one of my favorites off the album, and I can relate to this song (in my interpretation of it) in so many ways | |
| Enter Shikari – Constellations Lyrics | 13 years ago |

its clear he is talking about our earth and the path towards a healthy and humane world is one with no direction. By using the trains as a references to the paths we can choose. Destination disaster (the one we are all currently aboard) will always arrive on time. But destination sustainability is not guaranteed. We have to make that path ourselves, its not just going to show up on its own. Absolutely brilliant song. |

| I Am the Avalanche – Clean Up Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
definitely one of my favorite songs by them. I think this song is about someone who is in such despair they are reaching out for help from anybody. Just a genuinely sad soul looking for some help. I do agree with WJ and think he is just saying jesus christ for emphasis and not actually calling to jesus directly |

| It Prevails – Today is Yesterday’s Tommorow. Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| first song ive heard from this band. really like them so far. this song seems to me, that he is frustrated with the world and how society is. How the more you look around, the more you just see how backwards this world and human nature is. Which is something that I can relate to very personally | |

Here's how I see it: The earth is disappointed in humanity (as vandalrocker posted on page 1). I think it's pretty clear once you read it more then once. I don't think its specifically talking about Adam and Eve and I don't think its religious in any way at all. I feel that it is addressing humanity as a whole and it's failed relationship with the earth. The second word in the song is "prodigal" This word means "characterized by profuse or wasteful expenditure" according to Websters dictionary. So earth is saying hey guys, what's your problem, I feed you, shelter you, aid you anyway possible (as sabio said) and all you can do is exploit what I have and be so greedy all you want is more? (Earth) is observing what itself has come to by looking at what humanity has done to it after all the aid it provided us (humanity) Look at Present day, when you even say "Global Warming" you are laughed at. Nobody cares about the earth. They don't think of it as a living, breathing organism. They (humanity) just think about better advancing themselves, not realizing the unforeseen consequences. Humanity is very wasteful. It's greed has turned it into a non-reversible, unstoppable monster that wont be happy until what was their least concern (earth itself) is destroyed. The second stanza, is just giving evidence to support the first one. The earth is saying, how could you (humanity) go to war ("uprooted flowers and filled the holes with blood") with your self's, all I ever did was love you. It's like a 'what went wrong' kind of thing. This part also reminds me of the end of the song "Don't tell and we won't ask" when Dustin is shouting, "Don't we all know life is sacred, Don't we all know we bleed the same red blood" Now the last stanza and the last two sentences I feel is the earth talking specifically to one human or even a group, but not humanity as a whole, like the first two do. The last stanza is just pretty obviously saying, you're dead now buried in my (earth) body, no one can get to you here, you are at peace. "and though above the world may toil and turn, no prying spade will find you here below." I see this as saying, even if they (humanity) keep on their projected path of destruction, you are safe here with me (earth). You are back to the precious, innocent child I raised. And "no prying spade will find you here below" is great too, because "prying" just puts emphasis on the greed of humanity, always trying to get more. But they can't get YOU anymore. You once again are one with the earth. The last two are for me personally the toughest to figure out. I kind of see it saying this: The earth says sarcastically "safe beneath their wisdom and their feet" meaning, humanity thinks they are so smart they can fix anything, but can't realize that they are just ironically hurting themselves directly, and indirectly. And then earth says, "Here i will teach you truly how to sleep" meaning I will show you what humanity has failed me of doing. (earth). Anyway, that's the message I get out of this song, bottom line, humanity is destroying and will destroy the earth. It's a masterpiece along with the rest of the project. |

| August Burns Red – Consumer Lyrics | 17 years ago |

"A young boy cannot comprehend social status, and this boy is better off than any of us. Life will pass by us like a summer storm, and if we consume ourselves with ourselves we will surely look back with sorrow." Some of the best lyrics I've ever heard |

| August Burns Red – Redemption Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| every time I listen to this song I get the chills. every time. | |
| August Burns Red – The Balance Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| adventFLUX and metal-n-roll both nailed. Think about. Is something "wrong" with you? Guaranteed they have a drug to correct you. Well what is "wrong"? What society doesn't see as perfect. Hollywood is a great example. Everyone looks up to the beautiful people. You're not beautiful if you don't look like a Hollywood star. Its disgusting... that's what this song is about to me, how society wants everyone to be "perfect." | |

| Parkway Drive – Boneyards Lyrics | 17 years ago |

anyone else think it might be about the sinking of the USS Indianapolis? The ship was carrying vital parts for nuclear bomb that was dropped in WWII, but a submarine sank it and thousand of crew members died from sharks. The crew was floating for 5 days straight just being eaten by sharks. I dunno just a thought |

| Thrice – Broken Lungs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is blatantly obvious. its about how 9/11 was an inside job and the government brought down the towers for their own agenda. we "swallowed the story hook and sinker" we fell for their bullshit, we fell hard. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!! WAKE UP! PLEASE!! | |
| Thrice – Under A Killing Moon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think this song is definitely about the witch trial. but i think it applies to a lot of other things as well. Like genocides, holy wars, pretty much just like all unjustified (mass) killings. when he says "You can still walk away if you just hold your tongue" its kind of like the i can tell you, but id have to kill type thing. and when he says "The blood on our black gloves it is none of your concern if you want to call our bluff get in line and wait your turn" That can apply to more than just the witch trials. The witch trials is the obvious part of the song, but there is more beneath it. Awesome song |
