| Silversun Pickups – Make Believe Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Lets take a jab at this one, shall we? I feel like this is about a relationship(of course right) but maybe not one that ever happened. Childhood friends playing "make believe" games as kids, but eventually he turns to have feelings for her. As they get older he wants to tell her and confess his love. He will give her everything she needs, just like in their world of make believe. But he feels that he hasn't quite figured himself out just yet. He feels like he is still stuck in the wrong mindset with her, thats why she "shakes" his "reality" It really comes together for me when this line comes up "I wish I could just warn you of my incomplete" he wants to tell her his feelings, but also admit that he isn't in the best state of mind to be with her, but he can't cross that boundary, unless its in his world of "make believe" just my opinion. | |
| Florence + the Machine – Spectrum Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Easily my favorite one on this record. "When we first came here we were cold and we were clear" talking about the first time they met, they were just everyday run of the mill, people. When they "Let the spectrum in" the relationship became a deeper connection, and revealed all about their past and present to each other. The spectrum being trust and love. "Say my name" is just as yhtrownu said is to be fully acknowleged by one another and to verify who each other is. "And we will never be afraid again" this is talking about the fear of trusting someone completely when you are trying to start a relationship, but since the spectrum has revealed them they don't have to worry about that ever again, they have each other. "And we'll come back dressed in black" once again as yhtrownu said, even in death, they will know each other and be together forever. Beautiful, and so full-filling. Florence is the best! |

Feeling as though you can't ever be forgiven for you sins. You are so bad deep into your sins that there is no forgiveness. "But that's alright" Good song. |

| Florence + the Machine – Leave My Body Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Ok, just my thoughts on this one: She doesn't really care about the basics of life or death, she is tired of being held down by rules and laws of life itself. She doesn't want his heart, it leaves her cold, relationship of course. Then I think Cobehn is right on the rest of it. I think its a song about wanting to break away from relationships, she doesn't need it anymore. But it keeps pulling her back, despite her will. "One bright moment, is all I ask" could be talking about a final hurrah before its all said and done. She wants to live her life focused on the spiritual aspect and wants one true moment where everything makes sense and to know that her life wasn't meaningless. "History keeps pulling me down" is back to the fact that she wants to be focused on her spiritual life and wants that to make sense in the end but her past of getting tangled up in relationships always tries to get in the way. Just what I think, but combine what Cobehn and I said and I think you'll get the jist of what we're saying anyway. |

| Florence + the Machine – Breaking Down Lyrics | 14 years ago |

The song is most definitely about loneliness. All alone Even when I was a child I've always known There was something to be frightened of I really identify with this. "I think i'm breaking down again." its almost like a song by Everclear called "Here comes the darkness again." Its about loneliness and the feeling of despite how good or bad things may be, the loneliness will always come for you. A beautiful song, touches my heart. |

| MarcusH hit the nail on the head, its exactly what the song is about. | |
| Silversun Pickups – Common Reactor Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The song, IMO is definately about avoiding Death. I don't think this has anything to do with a relationship. The "Common Reactor" is Death "We're always gonna cross the finish line" we all die, its inevitable. I think that I agree completely with anarchomaniac on this one, good call. | |
