this song is very interesting to me. the song is rather thought-provoking--it's got a double meaning. although billie joe has stated this it's meant as an anti-war song, i think it's interesting to take the song on a more personal level as well. in any case, i think it sends out a strong message about knowing when it's appropriate to call it quits. the first time i heard this song i got goosebumps, but mostly because of the lyrics. the sound of the song is a bit strange to me, but worth a listen & has lyrics definitely worth taking to heart, be it in global or personal regards. |

what a dreadful song. they should be ashamed of the crap they're coming up with lately. "damned if i do ya, damned if i don't"? what are they even trying to say in this song? probably the worst song they've ever written, lyrics-wise. even the music doesn't make up for the stupid lyrics. all time low has sold out. hands down. i saw this coming the day they did a cover of "umbrella". they're trying to please the mainstream ears with mindless lyrics & bland, uninteresting music. if this song is even the slightest bit catchy, it's only because it's the same thing over & over. i can tolerate "weightless", although even that song kind of disappointed me. as a fan since "the party scene", i'm heavily disgusted with this unoriginal junk they're creating now. they can do SO much better. |

this is a gorgeous song. he cares strongly for a girl, but doesn't feel that he's ready to have a relationship. he's caught up in trying to figure himself out--"i'm somewhere in between who i am and who i want to be". he sees that she is such an amazing girl and tells her not to wait around for him. he says that her heart "can sing in a key that fits with anything", meaning that she can find love anywhere, so why would she wait around for him? basically, he feels inadequate & that he will never be good enough for her, but he cares for her regardless. |

i never thought that this song was about sex until i took a few minutes to actually read the lyrics. it is most definitely about an impatient & anxious boyfriend. "Sit back and unwind now It's gonna be fine now You can't justify your impatience" also, in the background "there is no finish line" is sung. this is basically saying that there is no final destination of a relationship that defines it all. a relationship is about all of the little things along the way, not about reaching a final goal of having sex. |

it's basically all been said amongst these numerous comments. it doesn't require too much thinking to know what this song is about. andrew has gone through so many ups & downs in the past few years in regards to his health. he has felt his life break down, collapse, suffer, fight, triumph, and rebuild. he captures the idea of prospering through a dark time in a person's life.. the cave metaphor also includes a "light at the end of the tunnel" concept. not only this, but he refers to the locked doors & how he has seen that they have keys. the battles he has fought created a new mindset for him and turned him into a stronger person. |

first off, i am in love with archie star's album. this one mighttt be my favourite so far. anyway, this song is definitely about a relationship that's running on empty and coming to a halt. she realizes that there isn't anything left for either of them, but it seems he's not ready to let go just yet. they both still care about each other, which is why it's so hard to part ways. they've probably almost broken up several times & been having issues. as he watches her start the car and leave, part of him believes and hopes that maybe it'll be like all the other times--she'll end up staying. when she's finally gone, he gives a final effort to save their relationship & goes to ohio to see her. he realizes that her words don't have meaning in them anymore & she is loveless. they sleep together one night on his visit, but he comes to face the reality that he is not her only one anymore. this wasted trip finally seals the end of their relationship. |

i love how this song has part of "sit & sink" in it. "It's safe to say that I'm not okay That's what I get for waiting" and.. "Tell me what you wanted I will never know" .. basically summarize the entire song. this is a guy who's waiting for a girl because she doesn't want him & he doesn't understand why. she's probably led him on before, which is why he's so confused on whether or not he should wait up for her. |
