| Making April – Wide Awake Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I am really into this song, right up until the key change. Too cheesy for my taste. Good song though --------------------------------- Could be a break up and the guy is waiting to get back with the girl he's singing about, but he does not want to get caught up again, 'dreaming of [her] love.' He knows he needs to move on. She has led him on, keeping his hopes up for a long time, and he is waiting for it to get better. Summing it up. He's wide awake now. ;) Towards the end, he has let go, not giving in to her again. |

The song is talking about him giving up on persuing this girl that he has loved. (Not just simply him being dumped or him dumping a girl) "What if I wanted to fight Beg for the rest of my life What would you do (do do) You say you wanted more What are you waiting for I'm not running from you" This is the key verse at interpreting this song. He's saying what if he wanted to fight for her, beg for the rest of his life. What would she do? He's not leaving her, so he's asking what is taking her so long, maybe why won't she love him even. "What if I wanted to break Laugh it all off in your face What would you do What if I fell to the floor Couldn't take this anymore What would you do do do" This verse is like a series of his possible reactions to the situation & asking her reaction. -(the first two lines I'm a little confused by the relation but I'll try) What if he just let it all go, and laughed in her face, like it was all just a joke to begin with? -What if he basically collapsed from the pain? "I tried to be someone else But nothing seemed to change I know now this is who I really am inside Finally found myself Fighting for a chance I know now this is who I really am" He tried being who she wanted ("You said you wanted more,"), changing himself to her liking, but she reacted no differently. In all this, he discovers himself & -realizes that he must seek for her approval by being who he is and no one else. (Maybe?)- "Come break me down Bury me, bury me I am finished with you Look in my eyes You're killing me, killing me All I wanted was you" He done with her, she might as well kill & bury him. He's love is still burning for her, all he ever wanted was her, but she doesn't seem to want it. The entire song revolves around the concept of "What If." |

| Kina Grannis – Message From Your Heart Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It is like a letter from your heart to yourself. The heart is describing its function, how it takes care of your physical body, while simultaneously absorbing every emotion felt. It is around for everything and is reminding the owner of all the work it endures and is just asking for some T.L.C ;) |

The ideas placed in this song speaks what I think everytime I enter a crowd. You know how sometimes you think things and wonder if others think the same way? Well this was one of those things & I am glad she wrote a song describing the thought process of it. I especially relate to the line 'I wont do you no harm, just wanted to see That you're a person just like me,' because that way of thinking is exactly how I function. I see every person as myself, the similarities and such, seeing how the mind works. It is a perspective that is extreme eye opening, and often times expells hatred. I do not want to say that the meaning of this song is self-explanitory, because I hate it when other people say that & I have no clue what a certain lyric is supposed to mean, but this song basically says what it means. Seeing people in a crowd and wondering about their lives and seeing how they are people just like you. |

I understand from a different perspective. First of all switch the roles The girl is in love with the guy, inrevocably. The guy plays games. Makes her think that she's finally has him And then he changes the 'rules' and just leaves It becomes a vicous circle And she can not help but staying in it It can work both ways, but that was what popped into my head when I first heard it |

| Imogen Heap – The Walk Lyrics | 17 years ago |

SUMMARY: The song has nothing to do with friends falling in love or her find a man and blocking him out, to me. This is after a break up, and she is still in love with him, and he is making it hard for her not to be. She tries to keep an emotional barrier so he can not see that she absolutly loves him, but he is always around her and she breaks down with weakness. She had planned on staying with him forever and now she justifies her feels as it being his fault, lying to herself, when she knows it is not the truth. She had not planned on them separating. She tries hard not to think about them together, but she gives in and is engulfed by the day dream, not wanting it ever to end. PHRASE BY PHRASE: "Inside out, upside-down twisting beside myself, Stop that now, cos you and I were never meant to be I think you better leave; it's not safe in here, I feel a weakness coming on." She is trying so hard not to love him, twisting beside herself in the attempt. Telling him to stop being so stunning, because she has to lie to herself saying that they were not meant to be. It is not safe in her head and she feels the weakness because she can't stop thinking of the idea of them two together, missing him. "Alright then (Alright then) I could keep your number for a rainy day, That's where this ends, no mistakes no misbehaving, Oh, I was doing so well, can we just be friends, I feel a weakness coming on." Justifying the reason to keep his number. She can not erase him, it would be too definate. No misbehaving, no showing him her true feelings. it would not be fair to both of them. She was doing so well until he dazzled her again, and she is now breaking down. "It's not meant to be like this, not what I planned at all, I don't want to feel like this, Yeah, No it's not meant to be like this, not what I planned at all, I don't want to feel like this, so that makes it all your fault." They weren't supposed to be separated in her mind, she didn't plan it. She doesn't want to feel depressed and wanting him, and she lies to herself, saying it is all his fault. "Inside out, upside-down twisting beside myself, Stop that now; you're as close as it gets without touching me, Oh no, don't make it harder than it already is, Mmm, I feel a weakness coming on." He is standing next to her and she is melting and can not hold her feelings back much longer. Big trouble losing control, Primary resistance at a critical low, On the double gotta get a hold, Point of no return one second to go, "No response on any level, red alert this vessels under siege, Total overload, systems down, they've got control, There's no way out, we are surrounded, Give in, give in and relish every minute of it Freeze, awake here forever, I feel a weakness coming on" Her day-dreaming is taking over now. The dream consumes her and she never wants to leave the euphoria. TAH DAH! My interpretation. I speak from experience. I teared up this first time I heard this song. |
