i'd say spot on from comments above, this is one of the best first songs on an album ive heard in a long time. i think it might be about death too, he's a bit of a morbid lad that scott hutchison. i think he was listening to the waterboys - this is the sea, when he wrote this one. another huge strummy epic with a similar theme. another scottish band too, makes me all proud and gooey... |

Me and my mate Kenny found the deep kick. It is located 20 feet off piste, about 2 thirds down, to the right of the Day Lodge slope at Cairngorm ski centre, in the Grampian Moutains, Scotland. SI thats a great interpretation! the girl is called Sandy Denny, who was in a band called Fairport Convention, you should check them out, especially this one song called Who Knows Where The Time Goes. I think Simon from OCS likes them a lot. She was this great folk singer, and she was well into a bit of Yes-Please, then one day she fell down a flight of stairs and died not long after, possibly of complications from all the drugs. sheeeeit. I havent actually heard this song yet, its the only album i dont have, gonna go get it asap! mert |

yes ya beauty, cant believe i'm first on this song! This is one of my favourite faithless tunes, even though it is a classic chillout side, rather than the trancey-triphoppy big house thing they usually do that everybody loves. I like the lyrics to this song a lot. They make me think that whoever wrote it was completely content in the moment they were inhabiting. To live for what your doing, and who who are with, in the present confers a serenity that is conveyed both in the relaxed lyrics, the vocal track, which is cool and lazy and also the beat itself which is sparse yet smooth. the singers voice is perfect for it too, its quite deep and very technical, restrained and deliberately not too showy, properly tasteful. This one reminds me of being on holiday with my girlfriend of the time, it feels very strong and nostalgic. gio listen to it if you have only heard insomnia and we come 1 etc, its wikid!!! mert |

I love this tune, that lyric: So lets make it worth the- lights to the sounds Pills to the spills drink to the shouts! makes me think about saturday night and youve got several things on your mind, none of which aer particularly moral... its got such a big dirty electro hook to add to the sleaze - bosh!!! Those aussies have got it sussed out at the mo, check out Midnight Juggernaughts too, though im sure all youze will have heard them. mert |
