She's Been Writing Lyrics
The village girl, aint it just the way,
Grows her hair long, and paints her face
Nobody calls her anyway
It's a shame
Here we go,
She knows it all
Writes it all down to tell us all
Nobody hears her at all
Anymore
She's been writing
She's been writing
She's been, ah, she's been... writing
At the fighting bar,
She knows the law,
She'd just get up and sock you on the jaw
After all she's been in love before
Nevermore
She's been writing
She's been writing
She's been, ah, she's been... writing
Between the stages and the sad refrains you know she sings
I'm just a dreamer scheming for the show
Between the pages I can hardly stand the pain
The changes bought to you before you had to go
Sandy Girl ain't it just the way
Grows her hair long and makes mistakes
Nobody calls her anyway
Nevermore
She's been writing
She's been writing
She's been, ah, she's been... writing
Grows her hair long, and paints her face
Nobody calls her anyway
It's a shame
She knows it all
Writes it all down to tell us all
Nobody hears her at all
Anymore
She's been writing
She's been, ah, she's been... writing
She knows the law,
She'd just get up and sock you on the jaw
After all she's been in love before
Nevermore
She's been writing
She's been, ah, she's been... writing
I'm just a dreamer scheming for the show
Between the pages I can hardly stand the pain
The changes bought to you before you had to go
Grows her hair long and makes mistakes
Nobody calls her anyway
Nevermore
She's been writing
She's been, ah, she's been... writing

SI thats a great interpretation! the girl is called Sandy Denny, who was in a band called Fairport Convention, you should check them out, especially this one song called Who Knows Where The Time Goes. I think Simon from OCS likes them a lot. She was this great folk singer, and she was well into a bit of Yes-Please, then one day she fell down a flight of stairs and died not long after, possibly of complications from all the drugs. sheeeeit. I havent actually heard this song yet, its the only album i dont have, gonna go get it asap! mert
My ultimate favourite OCS song.
To me, this is about a girl who everybody was unsure about; they had hopes for her, but they knew she'd go against the grain on everything, and wasn't afraid to be different. They think it's a shame but through all this, she's writing down all her experiences to tell the world about. She's learning from all her mistakes and she wants them all to know that.
