| Ace Enders – From A Daze Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song is so beautiful. Here's my take on it: I really thought that I was here And in that breath My lungs expand, my heart beats through my chest -He thought that everything was fine, and suddenly he realizes that it was fake, or not what he wanted. I see my world from a daze Learn to live with it, long enough to take it day by day -He feels removed from his life now. Accepts it, and gets through, but he isn't happy with it. And all I know, Is that I'm ready here, Yeah, I'm waiting for you to take me from this place And make it all okay Because you're you -He's ready for things to change and life to improve, but he isn't able or willing to make the change himself. He needs a nudge, and he's waiting for "you", whether that's someone he's in love with or just a close friend, to help him take that step. Now getting up, I hope we're here A seat has bruised my back, My neck is sore, my eyes can't focus Yet my wheel is turning to the field That's how it feels Knowing everything we've done Has just been fun while working out -He's starting to really live his life again and it's harder than he thought, but hopefully all will turn out well. Not really sure about this part. Come on and get it all -Basically take your life in your own hands and make the most of it. |

| Jonas Brothers – Tonight Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Here's the thing about the Jonas Brothers: They CAN sing. And they ARE extremely attractive. And they have the potential to make really good music. Mandy, on their first CD, was an excellent song. The style sounds good, the lyrics are creative, and its a fun, original song. But pretty much the rest of the CD, except possibly a couple not-so-awful songs, TOTALLY SUCKS! The writing is awful, and the sound is crappy. And their second CD. It was pop perfection. The sound was fun, the singing was good, and all the songs flowed well. But it was boring. It was pop crap, and no matter how well you sing pop crap, its still crap. The songs got very boring after a while, and while they weren't so awful, they were far from very good. But I'm really hopeful about their new CD. Burnin' Up is fun, and a little more interesting. Pushin Me Away is still kind of poppy and pretty much like their old CD, but it's alright. A Little Bit Longer is pretty, and sad, and about something different then "love" and girls and petty drama. And this song. This song is brilliant. It's similar to the style of Mandy, and it's about ten times better. It's fun. It sounds really good. The lyrics are different then their usual. It's almost unrecognizable from their pop crap on the last CD. I really hope there are more good songs like this on the new CD! |

| The Academy Is... – Black Mamba Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I heard about TAI a while ago from a friend and got a few songs, but haven't had the money recently to get anymore. I just bought this song a couple days ago and immediately fell in love with it. I agree with most of what people are saying, but with a little twist. It's definitely bashing music critics and the popular music-scene. They aren't going to change their sound just to please people and critics. Just a few things I want to mention: "When they review the debut What if the critics hate you? Don't worry, cause we might just catch Somebody off their feet" -Definitely my favorite part. It's so sweet, in the middle of a song about rebellion. It's saying that even if the critics slam your style, stay with it because you're going to have some dedicated fans and it's so worth it. "Love me, or leave me, or rip me apart This is the voice that I was given And if you don't like it Take a long walk off Of the shortest pier you can find" -I love this part! It's pretty blunt, saying that you don't have to like them, but if you want change them, then you can just go kill yourself, cause they sure aren't conforming. "We're living what we're signing So I guess that's a step in the right direction" -I think it's supposed to be "singing", not "signing". Easy mistake to make. This really puts it well. It's saying that it's really important for the band to like it's style. |

| The Academy Is... – Attention Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think RoxyStar16 did a great job explaining the song. He's in love with someone who is just a friend and hurts terribly. I think the line, "Well, it's not like it, not like it hurts much anyway," is DEFINITELY sarcastic and bitter. He's trying to get over it, and move on, trying to stay friends, but he can't because he wants to be more so badly. | |

| We the Kings – Don't Speak, Liar Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Love this song, like every song by We The Kings. Basically it's saying that he's lied so many times to her that she's fed up with it and can't believe him anymore. She doesn't want to talk about it because she can't trust anything he says. He's let her down so many times, and now she's letting him down and breaking up with him for good. | |
| We the Kings – August Is Over Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The idea of a summer fling is a typical one, but this song is really unique, and carries so much power and emotion. Let me break it down. "Say a prayer The summer nights are dead The fall is coming We were careless hearts Who got caught up in this" -The summer is ending. They were carefree and foolish and fell in love, and now they have to face the end. "You were shy Till the night you drove me wild And you crashed into me And I won't lie I wish it lasted a lifetime" -She was hesitant, but he fell madly in love with her, and she gave it a chance. Now he doesn't want it too end. "Please stay Won't you stay tonight?" -She's leaving, the fling is over. And he desperately wants her to stay. "Breathe in deep and say goodbye The saddest song I'll ever write For anyone, anytime Breathe in deep before I say I can feel us slip away You're almost gone You're good as gone August is over" -Fairly self-explanatory. The first two lines are possibly the most powerful in the whole song. I think that "breath in deep and say goodbye" means that he is about to break down and cry, but he's trying to stay strong and let her go. He's heartbroken and this song shows his sadness. They were trying to stay together, but it wasn't working out and the summer fling dies with the end of the month. "Now we wait Cause August had to end All our bags are packed Just two broken hearts That got caught up in this" -The first verse that shows that she is heartbroken about it ending too, but still is leaving. "I deny that tomorrow you'll be gone And so far from me It's something strange Never love the same way" -He doesn't want to think about the fact that she will be gone tomorrow. He'll never forget how he loved her, and no one can ever really replace someone you loved. "We can try to drown it out But it never stops breathing We can take it all in But it never slows down We've come down from that cloud" -They are trying to keep time and other forces from pulling them apart, but they just can't. It's not the same anymore, and it won't ever be again. "Well, say what you gotta say Please say what you gotta say Whoa-oh, oh Whoa-oh, oh" -I think he's saying that he just wants her to tell him how she feels, that it's better for him to know the truth and get over it, then for her to make up an excuse or try and avoid saying it straight up. "We're not the reason August is over" -It's not her fault, and it's not his. But the summer is over, and it just can't work anymore. Sorry that was so long. I love this song, it makes me so sad, yet so happy every time I listen to it! |

| We the Kings – Check Yes, Juliet Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is such a upbeat and happy take on the old tragedy! And though the idea is a little cliched, I think these guys did a great job of making a wonderfully original song. It's an amazing song that I can't help dancing too, and the lyrics are clever and refreshing. I love the idea of the elementary notes, with the CHECK YES, NO, OR MAYBE. I never thought of that, but it's so clever, and it totally fits. |

| We the Kings – Skyway Avenue Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I love this song so incredibly much, I can't even express it! Every time I hear it, the lyrics give me the chills. This is how I see it: The two are so deeply in love. Their love is frowned upon, and they don't feel right in the world. They probably were depressed or at least felt like outcasts before they met each other. But now they are so in love that everyone else doesn't seem to matter yet. I think that they are still fighting the want to commit suicide, especially the girl. And they are everything to each other, so the boy says that he will die with her if she commits suicide. But I think that this song isn't saying that they actually do kill themselves. I think it's hopeful. Just look at the last couple lines: "So what's left to prove? We have made it through" You could see that as them having already committed suicide and having escaped the world, but I don't. I think that those lines are saying that, through each other, they have found the will to keep on living. You can see it however you want, but that's what I think. |

| Also, this song kind of reminds me of Sweet Child of Mine. Especially the guitar at the beginning. Does anyone else see it? | |

I agree with the idea that this song is about sexual intercourse. I think the lyrics are amazing though, and so sweet. Although he talks about it being secret, it's sweet, more like it's a forbidden love, but a really truly strong one. He talks about being nervous for the first time: "We're finally intertwined Nervous and shy" And making it special: "Soft kiss and wine" I love the bridge! It really shows how much he loves her. I think it's saying that you shouldn't feel guilty about being with the person you love, and for having sex with them if you love them this much. It's a big step, and it's like a whole rebirth for the relationship. Also this line: "Don't worry Talk, they will" Especially makes me think of a forbidden love and how the couple fights past it and stay strong and true despite what anyone else may think or say. LOVE THIS SONG!!!! |
