| The Almost – Hands Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I agree. For some reason I didn't care for this song all that much the first time I heard it. Then I gave it another listen and I couldn't take it off repeat. Great song, simple but meaningful lyrics and catchy tune. Love this band along with Underoath. Aaron is most definitely the man. |

| Saosin – Fireflies (Light Messengers) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think xMosc is pretty spot on. Just sort of reminiscing on a past relationship (platonic, family, romantic, etc.) while analyzing yourself and realizing that you're not the person you once were; which may be for better or for worse. Whatever happened with this relationship apparently dealt a pretty devastating blow to both parties involved and ended on fairly bad terms. While thinking about the past you realize that maybe you said some hurtful things out of anger when things were ending. Yet despite how ugly things got in the end, you still "don't regret the rain". Sounds like he's remorseful to the way things turned out and is wishing things had played out differently and even in the midst of all the bad, he remembers the good of it all. Funny how when we look back on things, it's typically the good that we hold onto. Awesome song by the way; I some them live in April at Bamboozle Left earlier this year. This was the last song they played and I instantly loved it. Couldn't wait for this album to drop. |

| Taking Back Sunday – Where My Mouth Is Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This one has to be my second favorite off the new album, my first favorite being "Everything Must Go". I definitely think this song is about John Nolan and his sister Michelle and that's who he's referring to when he says he "lost not one but two friends". It's a very heartfelt song and it sounds like Adam is just saying sorry for everything he did and admitting his ego was a little out of control. Taking Back Sunday rocks, but Adam and John were literally unstoppable together. I really hope to see them reunite. Now we'll just have to wait to see how John Nolan and the rest of Straylight Run respond. |
| Taking Back Sunday – Where My Mouth Is Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I definitely think the song is about John and Shaun. TBS will always be one of my favorite bands until the day I die, they're music is incredible, but nobody can deny the force of John and Adam songwriting together. When John was with the band, they were unstoppable and their music was so catchy and lyrically creative that it really hit home for a lot of the listeners out there and I think that's what made Taking Back Sunday what they are today. I think if we're ever going to hope for a future album of the original TBS, we're going to have to wait to see how John replies in Straylight Run's next album LOL. |
| Taking Back Sunday – Long Time Comin' Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| First comment! First and foremost TBS is the absolute business. Lyrically, this song isn't quite as good as their former work, but still an awesome song nonetheless. I'm still trying to figure out what this song means. At first I got the feeling of a friend that was on top of the world only to see it all come crashing down and was contemplating suicide (lost family member perhaps?). That sounds way off though but that's my $0.02. | |
| The Almost – Dirty and Left Out Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think anyone that has a problem with this song being about Jesus, has absolutely no idea what Underoath and The Almost stand for. Also goes to show just how far Christian music has come. I'm into most post hardcore bands, Christian or not, but Underoath is by far one of the best bands out there in it's genre and might I dare say period. Great tempo, lyrics, vocals, hands down one of my favorite bands. The Almost is an excellent side project too that shows another side of Aaron's musical talent. I think everyone else already nailed the meaning of the song, plus, it's rather self-explanatory. | |
| Escape the Fate – My Apocalypse Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is easily one of my favorite by Escape the Fate. I have to admit though, it's better when Craig performs it (sorry Ronnie lovers). I agree with Thirteensenseskid as far as the meaning of the song goes. Can't wait to see them kick off their tour on February 5th at the Glasshouse in Pomona =D |
| Quietdrive – Time After Time Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Excellent cover, I like it better than the original as a matter of fact. I agree with RB3N01T on the meaning. |
| The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Believe Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| First comment! Love this song. Ronnie's vocals are awesome in this song. I think this next album has a much more mature tone to it. This band has definitely developed into something great =D | |
| Escape the Fate – This War Is Ours (The Guillotine II) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is awesome, the riffs throughout the song are sick, definitely get you pumped. Gotta agree with the rest of you guys on "My Apocalypse", that song never gets old. And yes, we all know the song is about Halo. Long live Escape the Fate! |
| Angels and Airwaves – A Little's Enough Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's not church, it's "that you're too scared to tell". Read the lyric book | |
| Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit Lyrics | 17 years ago |
In my opinion the song is mocking the very people that were listening to the song rocking out to it. The stupid youth of America. You think about it, half the fans of Nirvana were the kind of people that Kurt Cobain despised. If you listen to the lyrics in a lot of his songs, you can notice the criticism or ridiculing of people. That's my take. |
| Escape the Fate – Situations Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ronnie is nicer than Craig? Dude I saw them perform their first show with Craig at Bamboozle Left this year and Craig was awesome dude and he was totally chill at the autograph booth. Plus Ronnie looks like Jennifer Love Hewitt lol. Ronnie is cool, but Craig is dope dude |
| Radiohead – Creep Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I hate this song, only because i understand the meaning far too well. To the above poster: The meaning of stalking, doesn't exactly mean one who obsesses over another. If this boy, you so speak of, followed you around like a stakeout, then you'd have a more sensible reason to call him a stalker. ^^^ Still good enough to make you "creep" dude haha. Awesome song! The only Radiohead song that I like. All their other stuff just does not catch my ear |
| Blink-182 – Adam's Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Just a side note, you know how people always say that suicide is really selfish for the person who kills themsleves becuase it effects the people around them and makes them really sad. That is the dumbest thing ever. If someone is so depressed and their life is so horrible that they truly want to die, how can you say they are selfish for commiting suicide because you might feel a little sad for a few months." Suicide is definitely a serious issue, but it is indeed selfish. To say that life is so bad that you're just gonna take your life and call it a day is not only selfish, but stupid. Just because you feel hurt that vindicates your choice to kill yourself? No. Seek help, snap out of it, whatever you have to do. Nobodies life is that bad that they should have to commit suicide. Someone always has it worse than you so stop feeling bad for yourself. |
| Escape the Fate – Ashley Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"this song shows that escape the fates new music blows big dick and it shoud not be played and ronnie should be satisfied that his band went down the fucking drain and they should be ashamed of themselves for even thinking of continuing without dear ronnie, okay thats it. and the only reason i liek this song is cause yes my name is ashley.. otherwise no its pretty horrible" Dear Ronnie? Hahaha, Ronnie sucks dude. He's the reason he's in prison, and if he's so "innocent" theh why was he avoiding authorities? Screw Ronnie. Craig rocks. Loved him with blessthefall, and I love him with Escape the Fate. Great song though. This entire album seems to get better and better each time I listen to it. |
| Flyleaf – Cassie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Awesome song. We all know the meaning. Stand for what you believe. Don't back down, even when things look grim. Either you believe in something or you don't. "Inspired in their footsteps, we will march ahead" (from the acoustic version which I actually like better) |
| Flyleaf – Fully Alive Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| My bad, wrong song =D | |
| Flyleaf – Fully Alive Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Awesome song. We all know the meaning. Stand for what you believe. Don't back down, even when things look grim. Either you believe in something or you don't. "Inspired in their footsteps, we will march ahead" (from the acoustic version, which I like better) |
| Flyleaf – All Around Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is not a double meaning song and anyone who interprets it that way is either ignorant, stupid, or both. The song is about God. When she says "my tongue dances behing my lips for you" she referring to praying in tongues. Also, if you listen to the song when she sings "And so I cry" she follows it with "(holy)". If she would be calling the person she's in love with holy, that wouldn't make much sense. Also, " the angles singing say we are alone with You". Way too many Christian references for this to be a "love song" The lead singer used to be suicidal and that's why she sings that she can feel God all around her. The song was never meant to be released mainstream, it just picked up. Much like Switchfoot and Relient K. |
| Skillet – Rebirthing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song makes sense in both the literal and metaphorical perspective. In one case the protagonist is a newborn Christian and the other is that he/she has literally died and gone to heaven, actually "coming alive" for the first time. Either way, it's an amazing song and I love this band. I remember listening to :"Saturn" on the radio, it's amazing to see how this band has constantly able to continually reinvent themselves time and time again over the years. Plus, you just gotta love Industrial Rock |
| The Servant – Cells Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Love this song and band. To me, this guy doesn't really care about much and just kind of floats through his mundane life. The only thing that really seems to matter to him is the woman on his mind, "all I do I want to do with you". A blend of constantly thinking about someone and being tired of the life you lead. |
| Something Corporate – Konstantine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Where can I find this song? It's not on iTunes. Can I find it on Limewire? | |
| Escape the Fate – The Guillotine (Part 2) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I hate you T Y R A N T!!! Haha, naw dude it's cool, just a personal choice for me. Copped the album last night off of iTunes. I think their style of music has definitely changed, it's like a whole 'nother of ETF. I like it, good sound and some good new tracks =) |
| Escape the Fate – The Flood Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Thank you! Finally somebody agrees that Craig is better. Ronnie sounded like a whiny little bitch. His voice was constantly cracking. Craig has a much cleaner singing voice with a larger range too. Not to mention the guy rocks shows. | |
| Blink-182 – Adam's Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Please tell mom this is not her fault". The song is about suicide like everyone has mentioned already, not really sure how much more information I can provide. Love this song though. Blink really came together and made some great songs in their time. |
| Escape the Fate – The Guillotine (Part 2) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm not talking about the song, I'm talking about the album dude. I know they put the song up, but I'm waiting until October 21st. Why you ask? Because dammit! lol |
| A Perfect Circle – Judith Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Funny how people hate Christianity and all it's "lies" yet the first person they blame for something is God. In the end, if you say that God caused someone to be paralyzed, sick, tortured etc., all you do is acknowledge the fact that He's real. Pretty stupid eh? Above that, people never want to point the finger to themselves. Half the crap that's out there these days is man-made. Cancer rates have shot through the roof. Wasn't that way before, what changed? Of course we'll never admit it, instead we'll just say that God is a sadistic dictator who likes watching people suffer... Such morons. Too often people follow religion, not God. Doing good things and going to church every Sunday does not validate you as a Christian, that's not even what the Bible teaches. People just follow the traditions of man and expect to get to heaven. Instead of following what your "tool preachers" say, follow what God says. And if you follow Christianity because you feel a guilty that Jesus gave His life for you, then something is seriously wrong in your perception of Christianity. Stop following what you hear and find out what Christianity truly is. People are such mindless sheep. |
| Escape the Fate – The Guillotine (Part 2) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Sucks that their album got leaked and that these lyrics are actually posted right now. Haven't heard the song and won't until October 21st. |
| Nirvana – Heart-Shaped Box Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song is just a clear example of what kind of brilliant artist Kurt Cobain was. None of his songs really seem to have one meaning. There are multiple ways that this song could perfectly correlate with an array of subjects, but it does hold just one meaning. I've seen a lot of interpretations that make sense though. To be honest, I think nobody but Kurt Cobain could really know what these songs were about. |
| Escape the Fate – The Guillotine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Really? Wow. This song never did make much sense to me, but at the same time I never played Halo too much. Gears of War was sick lol | |
| Escape the Fate – The Flood Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Vail, you read my mind. Can't wait to hear the Guillotine Part 2. You know how some songs just sound good based off the title? There seems to be quite a few of those on this album. I've seen Craig perform with ETF twice and trust me, the guy is sick, nothing was spared during the show. To be honest I like him better than Ronnie, better vocals in my opinion. I'm hoping that the cd will be everything we expected. But as far as the meaning, it's just "the drama' from blessthefall and the Ronnie situation. Anybody read Ronnie's blogs by any chance? Lmao! They were hilarious |
| Ryan Adams – When the Stars Go Blue Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ryan Adams is ridiculous in this song, the guy rocks! Bethany Joy Lenz/Tyler Hilton covered this song and it's pretty good. I think the Tim McGraw version is my second favorite, but Ryan takes the gold anyday. Awesome song. |
| Ryan Adams – Wonderwall (Oasis cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think I'm on the same boat with most people. I first heard this on my brother's playlist and absolutely hated it, but after hearing it more and more I just fell in love with it lol. It brings about a different sense of emotion than the Oasis version. I love Oasis and their version, but it's almost as if the two bring different meanings into fruition. I've gotten to the point though that I'm beginning to prefer this cover over the original version. Great song |
| Escape the Fate – Not Good Enough for Truth In Cliché Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ronnie is whack compared to Craig. To be honest, Ronnie was cool and all, but Craig is a way better performer with a much better vocal range in my opinion. WIth that said, this song is pretty simple. I think people are over-analyzing it, it's just a song about a girl who did him wrong and he's out for revenge. This is their song that "sells" them if you will, the one that's not so hardcore so it will attract more fans. So in that sense it shoots for a simpler approach with pretty simple lyrics. Love this band dude |
| Escape the Fate – The Flood Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yeah I definitely feel that this song is about the whole Ronnie situations. "Situations, are irrelevant now..." (had to do it lol). I love this band and although Ronnie was good, I think Craig has a much better vocal range and he's an awesome performer. Saw them at Bamboozle Left earlier this year and they straight rocked it. People who were waiting for the band at the next stage starting migrating towards their stage because they were just sick! Like the new song, can't wait to hear the rest of the album |
| A Skylit Drive – City On The Edge Of Forever Lyrics | 17 years ago |
First comment... Really? Sweet! This song is great. It mainly describes his thoughts or imagination of what could have been between him and someone else "Never lost my way with you, felt it all around me". But despite the seperate paths they took he's saying let's take it from here and make up for lost time. |
| A Skylit Drive – Wires (And the Concept of Breathing) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Gotta agree with blake2112 and pirateabc. When I first heard the song I thought it was going to lead into a sick breakdown, but then the song just started over. Their new stuff is a little different, but I'm a fan nonetheless. Like everyrone has said, it's about cutting off all form of attachment to someone, hence "Let go of the wires". |
| Radiohead – Creep Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Makes sense that they would stop playing it due to it's popularity, but I wish it wasn't so because this song is downright awesomeness. Everyone should have at least one song from Radiohead on their playlist IMO. | |
| A Skylit Drive – Hey Nightmare, Where Did You Get Them Teeth? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Soul Caliber? Haha, wtf? This song is not about Soul Caliber I am positive of that. It's a simple song describing the lengths that he will go to just to win his "true love" back. |
| Chiodos – Baby, You Wouldn't Last A Minute On The Creek Lyrics | 17 years ago |
There are some subtleties in this song, but at the same time it's a very simple message. That's the beauty of Chiodos, lyrics simple enough to grasp the first time it hits your ears with a hint of intriguing lyrics that would compel you enough to come to a site like this looking for answers/the opportunity to share your opinion. Saw them live in April at Bamboozle Left, SICK SHOW! The crowd was insane, everyone was crammed together so tight that you couldn't move, it was so bad people were literally getting trampled. Eventually security got things under control and the show went on. |
| The Goo Goo Dolls – Iris Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Haha, gotta admit I was a stupid teenager at one point who fell victim to making this "Our song" =) Probably the biggest mistake of my life and worst part was I knew it, glad I ended things when I did. But with that said, this song has never lost it's appeal. Great song, and next time, it will definitely mean something more | |
| Armor for Sleep – Dream To Make Believe Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Haha, funny how some idiot said they wouldn't have a full length cd some years back, now look at them. Great band, they are awesome live, much better than anticipated, though the leader singer is crazy short haha. Awesome song, kind of reminds you of when you just get to thinking or dwelling on the past. |
| Tokio Hotel – Ready, Set, Go Lyrics | 17 years ago |
BEST NEW ARTIST! Chyeah kids! I'm glad they took it because they were underdogs and not to mention Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus are whores. Taylor Swift, though I'm personally not a fan, I'll admit the girl has talent and she's pretty humble in her demeanor also. As for the meaning, it's just about breaking away from the flock of mindless sheep that are so rampant in today's generation. Good song, fun rythm, cheers for Tokio Hotel |
| Scary Kids Scaring Kids – What's Said And Done Lyrics | 17 years ago |
So few comments, I can't believe it, this song is gorgeous! =) I love it when I just take a nightly drive and let this ring throughout the car. Excellent song. The meaning is pretty self-explanatory, past break up and he wants to deny everything that happened and begin from the start. And I could be mistaken but I think it's "find me something true that is intact", but like I said, I could be wrong. |
| Relient K – Getting Into You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't think it would be about a woman considering it mentions "I kinda view you as a son" which would be kinda creepy if a woman was talking about her man and vice versa lol. Love this song though. Love playing it on the guitar too. Props |
| Emery – The Ponytail Parade Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Love this song, love the band, 'nuff said. The song is pretty self-explanatory, but the lyrics are so creative and just come together extremely well. I think that is what I appreciate most about this band. Cheers! |
| Boys Like Girls – Hero/Heroine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
LOVE THIS BAND! Discovered them almost two years back, they're awesome. I hate how I had a lot of my friends listen to their stuff and they were like "Oh yeah, it's pretty good" but the damn second it hits MTV, "OMFG!!! CHECK OUT THIS BAND! THEY'RE AWESOME!". I'd be like "Dude, I told you about them months ago" "Really?". Damn kids lol. But this song is awesome, I love hero and heroine combination. You would think heroin, but I like the choice of lyrics. I take the meaning of the song to be that he loves someone and she's his "drug" but at the same time his weakness, like his cryptonite (referring to hero). Great song! =) |
| Blink-182 – Adam's Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I forget who it was, but it wasn't their ex-drummer. Anyways, I think we all know what this song is about. Sad, yet wonderfully composed. Anyone who talks trash about Blink is a moron. Blink 182 was so widely accepted because they wrote about things that we could all relate to; they wrote about real situations that just seemed to hit home. Not like Madonna who sings about how fast she can whore it up, not to mention only homos like Madonna. Back to business, great song, great band, have a great day kids |
| The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Face Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love this song, but the demo is so much sicker than the mainstream version. Stupid Virgin Records made them change their sound a bit more "poppy", but the mainstream version is still good. As a matter of fact all their songs sounded better on the demo, but what can you do? =) Domestic abuse is a terrible thing and this song does a great job at making people aware of it. I love this band, I can listen to their stuff for days. They didn't get too big when they debuted which I think is a good thing in the sense that they are less likely to lose sight of what they are and what they stand for. Cheers for RJA |
