I take this song to take place after "White Oak Doors" off of "Empty Nights & Sleepless Day". This song is told from the point of view of the younger brother who survives his confrontation with his brother and is now looking back at his life now that he's had such an intimate run in with death. He is walking away from train-track and finally realizes what a bad person he's become. He is beginning to regret the action he's taken ("I killed my father, I've killed my brother, I left my mother in your god's hands"), so he heads to a church to find absolution. He's told there (Either by a priest, God, or himself) that he's been forgiven, but he finds no comfort. He goes to the steeple and puts his name on the brass bell there before he leaves town forever. |

I think Flynn is talking directly to DRUGS in the first part of the song and then he refers to the addict and he basically says " You can basically be controlled until you take control. "
Basically, a song to addicts saying that they should get clean. |

Just throwing this out there: I think this song is about going out despite the fact that you really don't want to and having a good time despite yourself. |

| Taking Back Sunday – Great Romances of the 20th Century (Demo version) Lyrics

" This won't mean a thing come tomorrow " is really endemic of adolescent relationships. The idea that somehow these two people who were so intimate will just get over it and being troubled by the realization that " No. It's not that easy to get over something like this ". At least for one half. This song is half-indictment, half-plea.
" Please, let this be bothering you as much as it's bothering me."
" Please be struggling to get over this. "
" Please think about me as much as I think about you. "
It's very pointedly a song for young people. |

In my mind, this is a song about cheating. This is a song about lying in someone else's bed knowing you've made a big mistake. It's about trying to get home to that person that you love and trying your hardest to forget that you've fucked up. It's about "thinking with your dick" and regretting it. |

For me, the song is about depression and overcoming suicide. Just my interpretation though. |

I'd just like to note that " Me and my friend made a comic book " is a literal thing. Flobat actually did make a comic book, available on their site, with art by Hero by Night writer/artist D.J Coffman |

Amazing. No comment? Really?
The song is introducting Janelle's alien-cyborg alter ego that is the central character of her Metropolis opus. Neat sci-fi influence soul-funk. Dig it. |

To me, this long is all about stepping back and just letting things work out between two group of people. Two friends who suddenly have issues with each other and you're stuck in the middle. It's a song, I think, about getting out of the way of issues. |

I wonder if the title (Good to Sea) and the refrain are a very clever pun. To be " Good To Sea " can be interpreted as being a mashing of the phrases " Good to Go " and " Go To Sea ", which could itself be interpreted as being a voyage, which could relate to being on a voyage away from your problems and then returning to find that it's only gotten worst while you were away. |

So as a bunch of people have already stated this song is about distance and relationships. My personal interpretation has always been that this is the singer having to go somewhere while he's having relationship problems and wondering if the other person would stick around or will they be gone when the singer gets back. " Constants aren't so constant anymore ". These things that I once trusted, I don't know if I can put my faith in it anymore. " Will you be my valentine? " Will you still be here for me even though I'm not physically here for you.
Don't go by me though. |

So Moron Parade said what I was about to say. I'd like to add that, in the larger context of life, high school means nothing. High school is not reflective of what adulthood is like. |
