The first part seem to be about him not being able to find the right person to fill in the space that someone else left open and all his relationships are failings. The second part... "Can't you read? This towns a convenient store You can buy whatever you want But you can't get your literature" makes me think of how neglected education is and how the governments main focus is getting consumers and not childrens education. The third part sounds like he's switching off between the first part of the song and the second. The "It gets worse when you're not on my side" is refering to the girl in the first part. And "It gets worse baby working 9 to 5" building off the second part and how it will get worse for children when they get older. More ways the government controls you. (I.e, taxes, paycheck, benefits, which are decided by your job, usually decided by your education) OR!!! it's random as fuck with no meaning. But I like my first idea better. |

0 comments? Really?! This girl is beautiful, has a kick ass voice and a brutal scream... I don't remember where I stumbled across this band, but I am sure glad I did. I think the meaning of the song is just about losing innocence (not her virginity) just her eyes opening up to what the world is really like. Also something about being fake before she realized how the world was like, from the part about her once being a porcelain doll. I'll probably re comment later on. this tottaly reminds me of the book Ulysses... read that book if you havent... which you should have because its a classic... in this song God made him sail for his whole lifetime because he challenged him.. in Ulysees..Ulysses had to sail for a very long time to horrible islands and whirpols because he pissed Posiden off.... by throwing gold off his boat into the ocean causing the water nypmths to follow him (nypmths= Posidens bitches)..which is kinda like a challenge..althought he didnt do it on purpose =p IM RIGHT. |
