| Massive Attack – Saturday Come Slow Lyrics | 14 years ago |

When he speaks of "this town turning my rose into desire," it sounds like he had innocent feelings at first, perfectly romantic and the like, but now is slowly starting to turn sexual. The mantra of "do you love me?" sounds like anxiety than longing, almost like a cry of an obsession. As far as the day goes perhaps he met her on Saturday. When I first heard this song I imagined a stripper dancing in front of this person who in turn takes her display as an invitation, despite subconsciously knowing it's all a show. I get stripper from the town, which I associated it with a place along the lines of Vegas but it kinda sounds farfetched even to me but that's my two cents on it. I found it funny that after I listened to the album and spun my take on it they played this onTrue Blood with a scene of a stripper dancing. (how dare they use such good music with such shitty plot developments, ugh!) |

Inertia means a resistance to physical change, or in this case it could be the person is slowly accepting this abusive relationship. I have a feeling the woman is domineering (in more ways that one ;D) and manipulative, coercing the other to become submissive in the relationship, physically and emotionally. I can see how a lot of people would think it's about pure sex. Robert could sing a driver's manual and it would still be sexy. :O |

Um I think the beginning goes as: Laid in future's arms So lily white I stretch before you come inside There's room enough, she's generous Come on, come on, while we're still young I wanna love you like from a prison I wanna love you like an actual reason The homemade weapons that you're fashioning up (Don't know last line) (After you better mean part) It's big enough the beginning Let us revisit the past Like when the house lights are dimming Like silver screen (don't know) It makes a beautiful sound when nobody else is around It (or He) has a wonderful way of eating up entire days The last part I can't make out then it's just the repetition of the chorus. I tried. |
