Yeah this is way obvious. I mean besides the obvious title of feeding off the weak, look at the other lyrics: "the factory mass producing fear" "There's always gonna be pedigree" -- pedigree means lineage, usually referring to a genealogy of royalty or excellence. In capitalism one of the main sources of inequality is inheritance -- the rich stay rich, the poor stay poor. |

At the concert Chad introduced this song by saying it was about letting all the women rule the world for a change since then men have had their chance and already screwed stuff up enough. Empowering women is actually what every 3rd world country needs though. Giving women education and social power will pretty much always raise a country's standard of living. and quickly too. |

I think dispatchfan09 knows what he's talking about. This song must be about suicide, I think the line "I'm gonna put my family back together again" might also be about the kid feeling like it was his fault that his family was falling apart and that maybe they'd be better off without him. I also think there's some drug references in the song. Well at least the part that says "One gonna bring religon, right from a Coleman stove"- It sounds like heating heroin in order to inject it. |

My dad always told me this song was written by Bob Weir about one of Jerry's girls. But wikipedia says it was about Bob's girlfriend Frankie. Either way, i really don't think it's about marijuana or other drugs. |
