How can y'all even say that? Don't you recognize the line "I'll tell you that youre love sick" is quoting Shakespeare (Romeo and Juliet) his cousin tells him that he's more interested in being in love than loving that person. And he's niceand she's willing to take full advantage.... Unbeknowest to her, he's not actually as innocent as he seems. "words are cheap, so I'll sell you a line" (btw, all of this song is so amazing with all the damn puns and turn of phrase it's ridiculous how good the writing is) he's talking about showing his true nature "like the way you acted that night".. He doesn't point out a specific night for no reason, obviously everything she said or did was just for show. And it set him off to return the favor... "if second best is what you want, then it won't cost you that much but me" (self expainatory) she can have her way, which isn't him and he is the best option...
