This song is definitely about drugs Shaun had a really bad problem with opiates he had to cancel a tour because of how bad his addiction got at one point. Hes talking about trying to quit but "this feeling/pain never fails" parts are about him getting dope sick from not using and trying to quit and "so we go back to the remedy" so he uses again and it just keeps going and going. Do a little research about it and you'll see he had said countless songs he wrote are about his battle with drugs. |

Okay I hate to burst all your bubbles but your all totally wrong. The entire band is from New Haven county in Connecticut literally 10 minutes from my house. Countless people I know went to school with the members and they are by no means a straight edge band. This song is Jamey speaking to himself. Jamey battled with addiction for almost his entire life. If you read the booklet in the Supremacy CD Jamey talks about how he had relapsed and while he was on tour his addiction got worse and worse. He talks about how he used drugs to escape his problems and sorrows. He by no means hate addicts or looks down upon them. These songs are so angry and hate filled because he was so angry at himself for falling apart. If you don't believe it do some fucking research on the band before you say shit like that. Addiction is a disease, a very serious one that thousands of Americans struggle with everyday. I battled with addiction for 4 years and I celebrated by 21st birthday 1 year and 10 months clean thanks to this band right here. Because of songs like theirs I knew I could overcome my demons and that I wasn't a bad person just because I was an addict, it was the drugs that were bad not me and that's what Hatebreed helped me saved and very possibly saved my life that was completely drowned in Heroin addiction at 15.
