| Queens of the Stone Age – 3's & 7's Lyrics

no word from J-Homme himself as for how the title came about? i like the poker analogy, but 3 and 7 isn't the worst hand. am also intrigued with the Los Angeles analogy, but the lyrics don't fit unless you put it in a hollywood / celebrity lifestyle context. |

this and in the back seat are my favorite arcade fire tracks. i love how the DWTN complilation got the best out of most of the collaborators. i can just imagine Lenin being all young and cheery out in a Russian landscape and right before the chorus hits with the instrumental build, he starts sprouting devil horns! |

| TV on the Radio – Mr. Grieves (Pixies cover) Lyrics

it doesn't matter which version is better, since the Pixies' execution is totally different from the one that TVOTR did. i actually prefer this version because they pulled off a barbershop quartet version of a post-punk track. no one can pull that off better than TVOTR! i'd love to hear another heavy track done this way or similar by them. |

| TV on the Radio – Dancing Choose Lyrics

Did anyone notice that Dancing Choose's acronym is D.C.? Wouldn't this somehow support the idea that TVOTR is pertaining to the current government regime and the American public in the littlest sense based on the title alone? I mean, dancing choose could also mean that whomever America elects to run the government is pointless, since results wouldn't matter if society is still oblivious to the problem at hand and would rather "dance" their nights away. |

iIthink that instead of the green zone it should be The Grey Zone, as in to what they used to refer to Auschwitz concentration camps in Germany based on the movie of the same title. I could be wrong but it makes more sense to me that way. |

i don't care what this song means, it just takes me far away to an auspicious land and the lyrics just flow with granduer imagery... |

| Kanye West – Flashing Lights (feat. Dwele) Lyrics

the "like Martin with no Gina" i think refers to Martin Lawrence's sitcom in the early-mid 90's "Martin". As i recall (no pun intended) Martin Lawrence played as well, Martin. and his leading lady if i'm not mistaken was Tisha Campbell, who played as Gina.
hey, i could be wrong, but that's what i imagine everytime i listen to this song. can anyone out there confirm this? |
