To me, it's about getting out of a relationship with someone that you put your hope and love into. It didn't mean anything to them. After losing your identity to make them happy they threw you away. The way they treated you left you dead inside. Maybe they didn't mean to hurt you because they may just have a personality disorder like Malignant Narcissism or Histrionic Personality Disorder. They can treat you so good to get you in love, then abuse you. Make you go crazy. Brainwash you. Your life turns into hell. This is a great song. It used to feel so depressing to listen to, but now it just feels normal thats how dead I am inside. I used to feel like a ball of life walking around, i've been drained and i feel so dead now. I believed her when she said she was hurting and I would hurt with her. It was all a game. |

seems like it is about a person who is losing or lost faith in a god.. and is learning to be their own god. they feel alone and helpless so they strive to become a beast, very achievement and goal oriented. he is awaiting death, doesnt mean its soon.. he just knows that he will die so he must live while he can. thats how i look at it anyways but im pretty sure we're all wrong and knowing opeth its probably part of some stupid storyline.. but i still love them lol |
