i always link songs to stuff thats happened to me.. so this is how i see it... she's been in a relationship that has ended (the fires out) but there still seeing each other although it means nothing to him.. "I know it's a lie I want it to be true" she still loves him and wishes that he wants the same thing. she wishes that she could stay with him and doesn't want to let go of there past relationship. this is one of my favourite metric songs. :) |

This song is about how she's been in a relationship thats dying but she doesn't want to get out of it because then she'll have nobody. And she'd rather be stuck in a dead relationship then have nobody. "All the babies tucked away in their beds We're out here screaming The life that you thought through is gone" This bit shows how they've lived there life together and had children but everything the couple has always dreamt of hasn't happened and now it's too late to bring it back. now her husband or partner has moved away somewhere far away and she's alone even though she's still in a relatonship with him. she's still lonely. This song is about how you shouldn't stick to a relationship if your not happy just to keep you from being lonley because in the end you won't be happy. this song is heartbreaking. :) |

it's about sex. and it's almost as if it's what the city and what the people that live there live off. as if they need it to survive. it's like if you go to the "city" then theres no turning back. and in he end the city will always win. if that makes any sense. it does to me i love the teenagers remix of this. :) |

It's saying that none of these feelings are true but that there just in it for the money :) |

I dont think the songs about a prostitute it sounds to me like somone who goes out and goes with alot of guys. They've fallen in love with one of them but they know they cant get too close because they have been in the same situation so many times that they don't belive in love anymore or let themselves believe that it could be something real. it's about how each time your let down you trust people less and less untill finally you don't believe in love anymore atall. the song seems so relevent to my life it scares me. |

This song is about breaking out of routine and the monotony of life. How everyone tries so hard to make money they almost forget about everything else. It's about taking a step back and thinking about whats really important. My favourite line is "still ill wear the red dress paint my toes and twirl" it makes me feel so happy. It's like the speaker in the song is breaking out of the routine finally and being vibrant and alive. |

the first verse is about forgetting. spring represents a new start. sweeping the streets is like getting rid of all the memories. "the sun becomes her he agrees" is one of my favourite lines. It's like saying that being happy suits her. Like people say when you smile it brightens up your face. The blue skies represents how theres so many opertunities out there and you can do what you want or be who ever you want to be. The windows that dont close could be like when one door closes another opens. showing that there is nothing to hold her back because the world is open to her. The last verse shows how love is everywhere around you and you shouldnt go out looking for it but just embrace it if or when it happens. I love this song. It makes me feel like i know something nobody else knows. It's just about how you can make anything you want out of life and how things shouldnt hold you down because theres so many oppertunities. :) |

I think this song is about how when your young you can have anything but once you have children you seem to fade out. "if this is the life why does it feel so good to die today" shows how this is what people are meant to do.. grow up and have children. So if it's supposedly so great why doesn't it feel like that? "grow up and blow away" suggests that you spend all your time growing up and when youve grown up you just disapear. almost like metaphorical ashes when someone's been cremated. "blue to grey" is almost like the person going from a bright vibrant colour to something dull and unnoticable. The song is about monotony of life. how everyone does the same thing and then just blows away. |
