| Disturbed – Liberate Lyrics | 9 years ago |
| Clearly you missed the part where Jesus of Nazareth taught to love one another, that is all you really need to do to get into heaven. Even in Romans it says you do not need the law if you are a good person you are the law and God will let you enter heaven. People often refer to Jesus saying he is the only way into heaven but that just means you have to have love for him. If you can't have some compassion for Jesus as a person you're most likely a sadist and you desire to go to hell. Fair warning to everyone choosing hell know the fallen angels do not care about humans they only care about themselves and are completely selfish, there is no joy or loyalty in hell. | |
| Violent Soho – Jesus Stole My Girlfriend Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| The first lines are saying he tried really hard to impress her and keep their relationship going, but in the end she chooses her beliefs over him. In his head he figures with time he'll end up giving in and apologizing for things he might of said that upset her and they'll get married ("This time next year I'll be married, this time next year I'll say sorry"). The line "Jesus stole my girlfriend" seems to mean two things: as long as she's only his girlfriend and not his wife they can't have sex and also literally Jesus stole her love away from him, her love has been redirected towards Christianity. Personally I love this song; it really captures the feeling of someone having atheistic views and none the less falling in love with someone who is very religious. Then when the person explains they don't believe in god they are automatically alienated and left alone. | |
| HIM – Acoustic Funeral (For Love in Limbo) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| "oh lord what a weird title right? Well everybody -ya know, who knows the history of rock n' roll bit and, and should know that there's a song by um black sabbath called uh electric funeral, so obviously that's our tribute to uh them, it doesn't have anything to do with their music actually or their song, but uh I was thinking more of T.S. Elliot, that how things and kinda, quiet and without a word... It's the weird- it's one of the oddball tracks of the album, it's uhm -I call it the lullaby from hell, it's very kinda this mortal- this mortal coil kinda ethereal kinda vibe mixed up with um, with the um, distorted guitars and all the usual HIM crap. Uh, the lyrics kinda not necessarily vague but they're very, not wordy, pseudo poetic i'd say and -and obviously because of all their weirdness it is my favorite, it's probably my favorite song from the album... the acoustic funeral for love in limbo, we're dancing with tags on our toes, i save my last breath for your window, to write you this song, for the acoustic funeral -that's the lyric from the uh -from the chorus, and *sighs -you know we're dancing with tags on our toes just sounds so sweet. It's that particular song and that particular melody and all that, it's just a- it's like a momentamory type of thing. ya know, remember death for i still alive and seize the day... How many times -ya know, lets say a relationship that ends usually never ends with a bang or with a, -it just ends in silence, it just ends in a moment of utter silence where -none of the participants say or can muster another word, its just -everything's all and said... First was a, you missed the winter and it followed you back home, where sun kissed the crimson footsteps on the melting snow, we are doing our best to disown the golden mean by these acts of cruelty in the name of beauty to be free. stuff like that- itsoundsactuallyprettypoetic. its like high school poem *laughs but uh jr. high yea. so its like premature ejaculation in poetry." :D -Ville Valo | |
| Sublime – Get Ready Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Gotta love Bradley for writing this song, good 4:20 song. I use to smoke... along with other substances and weed really keeps you peaceful. It is the least harmful thing out there, the only crime it was guilty of for me was making me depressed cuz i smoked all day everyday without stop for a long time. I use to say weed was good for everything: smoke to wake up -smoke to go to sleep, smoke to feel happy -smoke to calm down, smoke to get high- smoke to get stoned. I mean anything in moderation is fine, I just can't smoke once in a while. Once I start smoking I can't stop cuz it's all natural and who doesn't like getting high? Quitting after many years, I would never condemn anyone for smoking weed, its a beautiful thing. My pops use to say god made all medicines for a reason, and weed definitely has its place. I still smell people's weed, you can't beat the smell of well grown mary jane :D. and I still bump Sublime all the time, they're one of those bands where all their songs are killer- new and old. | |
| HIM – Drunk On Shadows Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I believe Ville is creating a metaphor for the dark sorrowful side of love. This darkness is in nature like woman you lust for. She is dark, she literally bleeds for lost love, it seems we can become infatuated with this mistress. we can dwell in her midst and become lost, with every kiss we receive we come closer to death. | |
| Parkway Drive – Don't Close Your Eyes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
this song is dedicated to all the bands original friends at the parkway house i imagine. love the end of the song, sick way to end the album as well: My true friends, you mean the world to me Your friendship means everything Tonight will stand as a testament of hope Forever beating on these lyrics really make me think of the band itself and how they've carried me on days when i'm just like fuck everything. love blasting them and just forgetting all my problems. i also saw them live and this song reminds me of how much they kicked ass. we had this tiny ass pool hall fuckin shaking haha so this could also stand for their dedication to tourin and their fans |

| System of a Down – U-Fig Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's about pure hatred. Close minded people causing problems and fighting for the sake of fighting. Pretty much the one thing I hate, ignorance. KUDOS to SOAD for writing this one. | |

| "daggers speak louder than words" yow! | |
| The Vines – 1969 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
1969 makes me think of the summer of love haha. This song is so HEAVY! gotta love how trippy and laid back it is. OH and BTW I'd definitely say Kurt, Craig, and Billy had a lot in common. I'm sure they'd all hang out, laugh and have a good time. they wouldn't critique each other aimlessly, obviously they have better things to do. Don't rag on people, you just end up looking ignorant. Saying stuff like "nirvana, they only are considered that good cause kurt killed himself" and comparing 1969 to 1979 is just blah. you do realize you're ragging on awesome bands. I have respect for anyone who creates art and keeps the spirit of music alive. So please don't trash talk dead people or mock great songs (you probably love listening to), it's a complete downer. Keep on rockin' in the free world!! |

| The Vines – Mary Jane Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
KUDOS to : AnimalMachine1969, sukuizuzu, kcsongbird. If you take into consideration both the tone of the song and the lyrics, Craig is saying: Marijuana (spanish for MARY JANE) has taken the form of a girl in his mind. It's like Mary Jane is a part of him and when she's there he feels at peace. It seems he's trying to express how sad he feels when "She'll have to go". It's like a sad kind of TRIBUTE song. It's awesome, instead of portraying drug use in a bad way he's saying its his escape, his lover, his place of peace. Many people today don't treat drugs as an adventure or a way to expand one's mind, they play it off as an act of evil self-indulgence. Further more people always throw so much shit Craig's way because of his habitual pot use. Or how he "spazzed out" on David Letterman. BUT THAT IS CRAIG, and without him we wouldn't have his songs. Now I'm not saying that weed (or any drug in general) is for everyone; or that smoking weed every hour of everyday is the way to go. I'm just saying people forget -it's his life, Craig's a person too. If getting stoned is something he enjoys in life, is it really that bad? I mean half of his songs wouldn't exist if he hadn't lived his life the way he wanted to. |

| The Vines – TV Pro Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Ok this song always seemed like a cult song to me. It's so cool and so out there, it definitively can be interpreted many different ways. TV Pro is like a dream you had that just blew your mind and now you're lost in translation trying to figure out what the hell it all meant. I love this fucking song!! you can just listen to it again and again :D | |
| The Vines – Country Yard Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is one of my favorites from the Vines, i love Craig's day dream songs. I used to wander around by the ocean at like 3 in the morning listening to this song pondering my existence. I love listening to the Doors, Pink Floyd, and the Vines -they're so far out. Their music sets such a good mood, it lets you escape all the bullshit and just clear your mind. | |
| Nirvana – If You Must (Version 1) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Fuck Yea. The true Nirvana junkies. This goes down with all the best of them - D7, pay to play, moist vagina, sappy, spank thru, marigold, and beans. | |
| Modest Mouse – Little Motel Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Truly a wonderful song, very heartfelt. I think Brock wrote this song about two lovers becoming distant, and the video was about a mother in fear for her son's life. Both situations display the mood he was trying to display. If I had to pick what "Little Motel" represents for me I'd say hope, or a search for hope. The tone of Brock's voice just sounds like he's trying to hold onto something he has little control over. He tries to make things right but in the end all he can do is wait and hope for the best. Of course the great thing with Modest Mouse is any one of their songs can be seen in many different ways. |

| Eminem – Drug Ballad Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
first off eminem says "Back when Mark Walhberg was Marky Mark" because he's trying to tell you it was a long time ago when he was younger. that white dude from the departed and the four brothers is Mark Walhberg and back in the day when Mark lived in Boston he was a punk who did a bunch of drugs and caused trouble... it does go along with the song. this song is pretty much about drugs having a constant place in your life. even if you're not on them there's a ton of people right now getting fucked up and somehow it's gonna affect your life. The song is also about being young and doing crazy shit because you want to. when you're young drugs are fun its a new thing, when you get older its more of an addiction or relapse from the past. you get fucked up and just wallow on "yesterday". Way back this song was my anthem. i remember my friends saying "this is like our theme song" lol and in most cases it was true. I can tell you first hand drugs are something you do to indulge in yourself and they really don't get you anywhere in life. if anything they'll ruin it and probably you'll end up doing a lot of stupid shit you wouldn't believe... but just like slim shady said "It's your life, live it however you wanna". |

| KoЯn – No Way Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
the true Korn fans are right here :D who remembers when Issues came out right after coal chamber released chamber music? i always cranked those albums haha :D. too bad a lot has changed since then... I would say this song is about the hollowness of feeling bitter about your life and everything that's happened to you in the past. At the end Jonathan's saying all this hate has built up inside of him and he's going to let everyone know just how fucked up he feels. this song represents why i love listening to Korn; all the crazy manic depressive psychotic shit Jonathan writes about in his songs. |
|
| The Rolling Stones – Miss You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| noone can capture a mood like the stones and make it sound so smooth. love the saxophone, very cool... deff gotta thank pops, he used to sing this song all the time when i was young haha. | |
| The Vines – Fuck The World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
i think Craig is saying don't get big headed, everyone needs to just chill. say fuck the world and just do something that's meaningful. ok here's my interpretation: "Walk the fields and we stare at the ocean Roll the wheel but forget the notion Life was better before was smaller The minds computer will fuck the world up" these lines are pretty abstract but they sound great. seems like he's reflecting on the world we live in and thinking our minds computer or our way of thought is fucked up and is gonna cost us. "Feels like a dream I know you want it Don't feel supreme Nobody got it" we can choose to think the world revolves around us but really we're all human. "World c'mon fuck the world c'mon fuck the world c'mon fuck the world" and the hook... fuck the world be true to yourself. I like the -Craig and Patrick interview above, makes sense. i think Craig wrote this song to make people think, its gets your imagination going. FTW listen to the vines!! |

| Shiny Toy Guns – Waiting Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The song makes it sound as if he's waiting for a storm to pass. its great because he's actually waiting for a girl to change her mind and realize he's telling her the truth... he knows he'll be "waiting all day". | |
| Cassie – Me & U Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| makes me think of a special girl you've been after forever, and she's finally giving you everything you've been dreaming about. The song that plays in her mind as she takes off all her clothes. | |
| Shiny Toy Guns – Turned to Real Life Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
whether or not she's singing about a man or a woman she's saying this person has made her feel so good that she feels like a subject from one of her fantasies turned real: "Makes me feel like A silver angel Under the moonlight Makes me feel like A girl in a fantasy Turned to real life..." It may be a simple song but it has a lot of emotion and meaning behind it. i'm surprised this one doesn't have a million posts. |

| Our Last Night – Nothing Says "I Love You" Like A Restraining Order Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i love this song, its about a guy who has become insane with love and obsession over a girl... and decides to take her life into his own hands. only our last night could write a twisted song like this and make it sound so cool | |
| Our Last Night – We've Been Holding Back Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Our Last Night... pretty much their theme song :] | |
| The Doors – End Of The Night Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I will agree i think it shows there are people who are born into happiness and others who are always striving to feel joy. I think Morrison could never feel fully fulfilled inside. Morrison preferred the night, he preferred to feel moody and lost in his own emotions. He was a spiritual person, and he lived a life many would question. I believe that's why the Doors were such a fundamental rock group, they showed that dark side of music. They were way before their time; so many groups today don't even mirror the talent of the doors. For anyone looking to better understand Morrison or The Doors i would highly recommend reading "No one Here Gets Out Alive" or "Riders on the Storm". |

| The Beatles – Pepperland Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Pepperland is an instrumental written by George Martin (commonly referred to as the "fifth Beatle"). The song displays the mood of Pepperland. Pepperland is a music utopia under the sea where time doesn't matter and everyone is joyful. The Beatles are called upon to save from this dreamland from the attacking blue meanies. Gotta Love the yellow submarine movie. | |
| The Doors – The Crystal Ship Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Probably my favorite Doors song. Its said Jim wrote crystal ship to represent his transcend into a life of fame and glory. "The Crystal ship" is a metaphor for his success, which is very like Morrison to be poetic. It's a sad love song, and to Morrison its very meaningful and personal. He's saying goodbye to a girl that he has feelings for but knows wont be there with him during his career as a singer. He's telling the girl give me one last kiss because its the last kiss you're gonna get, and maybe one day i'll give you a call and we'll meet again: "Before you slip into unconsciousness I'd like to have another kiss Another flashing chance at bliss Another kiss, another kiss. The days are bright and filled with pain Enclose me in your gentle rain The time you ran was too insane We'll meet again, we'll meet again." At the very end of the song he tells of things to come: "The Crystal Ship is being filled A thousand girls, a thousand thrills A million ways to spend your time when we get back, I'll drop a line." truly a well written song. people can say Jim was a junky, Jim was a hedonistic fool, a person who lived life fast and died young... but Jim was also very sentimental an educated person, a true poet. |

| Nine Inch Nails – The Big Come Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I Love this song. If you have ever been addicted to, or have had problems with drugs you know exactly what Trent is talking about... I'm not sure if people leaving comments have ever been to a Nine Inch Nails concert but there's always a good amount of dope being booted, blown, popped, and smoked ... Actually I'm sure he came off of a huge meth binge when he wrote this. I have never found another song that portrays the inescapable depression and hurt that going through withdrawals brings than in this song. In some of the lines it sounds like Trent is talking to himself asking why he chose to do what he did? and was it all really worth it? "got to get back to the bottom the big come down isn't that what you wanted? find a place with the failed and forgotten isn't that really what you wanted now?" Then he depicts what all addicts feel as a drug wears off and the user doesn't want the feeling to end: "the closer I get the worse it becomes the closer I get the worse it becomes there is no place I can go there is no place I can hide is feels like I keeps coming from the inside" It's such a true song, the fragile remains my favotrite NIN album. |
