unless you wrote the song, dont say an interpretation is stupid, or incorrect, you arrogant bastards. this song always made me think of a man who was in a relationship where he liked the girl but didnt love her, and she loved him. he enjoyed the company but because he didnt love her it was plain to see and whenever he was upset/angry he would take it out on her, coz although he cared for her he didnt care for her enough to keep his temper to himself. this started to break her down emotionally. realising what he was doing, he decided he had to break off the relationship because he was destroying her ("breaking" the girl, not "she has already been broken". slowly crushing her) although i know this isnt the actual meaning of the song, i thought it would be interesting to put it down anyway. i actually agree with the people who read it in Scar Tissue. |

This song reminds me of being bullied at school and wanting to commit suicide But anyways! An interpretation: First verse-From the point of view of someone whose friend's boyfriend/lover killed himself ("then he died alone") and when the lady saw her friend again she looked awful, destroyed emotionally, and then the friend starts talking about how it used to be, back when she was happy ("do you remember singing ice ice baby with me") Second verse-From Kimya's point of view, talking to/about Jimmy and Johnny's dead mother. You couldve done so much more for them than killing yourself "I bet he'd like flowers, balloons, and a card "Unconditionally yours, all my love, from your mom" Much more than wearing that little black suit and saying goodbye forever to you" Third verse- From the point of view of a bully who pushed someone to the edge and they commited suicide. They feel bad about it now the person has died. Next 3 verses-From the point of view of the person who is being bullied, Kimya. Last verse-This is the person who is commiting suicide. They think the friends and loved ones who dont want them to die should find someone else, someone better who wont die on them, and just forget them. Of course, they wont do that. "How could I ever forget?" I love this song so much. Hope all my blathering made sense. |

i dont think it has anything to do with the internet at all. i think the j-k j-k j-k l-o-l-o-lo-l is someone actually saying it out loud. and they are talking about trash, and cheap things that some people do to look cool (I'm not saying tattooes and peircings are cheap or trashy or anything, I am actually tattooed myself) but the voices sound so shallow and silly, its like some slutty girls who're orange in fake tan who squeal and run up with their mouths open excitedly, saying stuff like " ex oh ex oh, hey babe, oh em gee LOL babe you're so FUNNY!" And its as if people like this clearly go out and do drugs and drop their panties for any guy and then pretend they arent slutty by saying, "oh yeah, hes my boyfriend, we're in love", but the boy knows they dont actually like eachother, they are just using eachother for sex. Does anybody else notice the aggression in this song? The singers voice is pretty aggressive and mocking with the "jkjkjklolol" and "I heart your fucking makeup ohmygod i love your hair" (another seemingly shallow thing to say) "You're always falling in disguise" Shes not falling in LOVE, shes falling in DISGUISE, shes just pretending to love him, and he is doing the same thing. they both know they are both completely fake, but they are attempting, poorly, to hide the fact they are fuck buddies. so they try to spend time together to seem like they are in love, but they are so irritating to each other that it ends in fights "you know i love being with you and seeing you cry". "This is the end of what we planned". Possibly they are giving up all pretence that they love one another, this is just sex now, bitch. Dont talk, just fuck and drugs are pretty good, I can put up with you if im on drugs, as long as i dont have to supply them. Or something along those lines. Sorry I wrote so much. |

When I read these lyrics, I see a thin, naked, beaten, frightened woman huddled in the corner crying with a man above her holding a belt, and hes going to rape her and he says hes making her strong by doing so, because "what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger" or something along those lines. this is completely wrong, i am sure. |

I don't think this song is about an ex-lover at all to be honest. It's not only boyfriends and girlfriends who can be nasty people. I reckon Amanda has a friend who talks about herself and moans about how bad her life is, while Amanda is thinking well, I had a great time, can I tell you about that? Her friend is like no, listen to me whine about my life, I dont want to hear about how good you are, and how life is going for you. And with the line "you'd rather be a bitch than be an ordinary broken heart", she is saying "You might be sad, but instead of being normal and sad, where you would still be polite and ask me how i am, you insist on telling me EVERYTHING of how bad your life is, and when i try to tell you how my day was, you just keep on bringing up yourself." delial has basically said what I thought, I didnt see her comment earlier. To all the ones who tried the most was I supposed to cheer your efforts Perhaps this was aimed at the ones who were trying to help her behave better in social situations instead of being a cheat (The kind who comes to poker pockets stuffed with kings and aces) and a bit of a bitch (Just to make you jealous of the men she fucked before you met her) but she says "was I supposed to cheer your efforts" with this bitter little laugh, like she knows she cant be changed and therefore throws herself into this kind of nasty manipulating personality with all she can give. But this is just a thought. The other ones make much more sense. |
