Obv. There has been a break up in the relationship.. the girl hs left him and he's not all happy about it. 'Why don't you come home, its not very far. I wait up each night, for the sound of your car. I've a restless head and an empty bed, these dreams are killing me so' He never thought it would be this hard, kinda shows that he never knew how hard it would be without her, he thought that he's get over it i guess and he's found he can't. She's left him for three weeks, and without her with him. he can't sleep she's wreaking havoc with his mind and the 'empty bed' kinda metaphorically shows how he's feeling.. empty and solitary. the, 'I keep on walking 'til the sun comes up bit' i think that means he'll keep moving forward trying to work his way through the nght so he doesnt feel so alone, sun is usually a connotation for happy times.. so maybe he means he's gonna try and work his way through til he's happy again? 'Well well well, we all could do with the money, yeah. Well we all could do with the money. But oh whats the use of the money, when we aint got no time' He's trying to make a rational reason for her coming back, they need each other for financial support.. but then he realises that money means nothing to either of them if they havent got the time for each other. i thought it was a 'love labotomy?' meh love this song. Sums up my realtionship at the minute.. I like my ex. i wish he would come back to me, and i wish that it was me he 'chose'. I think the 'elvis aint dead' bit, is like a last stab oh hope. he hopes and prays that this is gonna work.. but just like Elvis actually being alive still.. it's just not gonna happen. x |

Nah, I disagree.. I don't think she's a prostetute at all.. she just lacks self respect and knows no better. Here's My interpretation: 'Here we go from the top, let's restart But the only thing that she starts is her car To drive away from the thing that she hates' this shows that she doesn't enjoy what she's doing.. she hates herself for it and can;t get away quick enough.. 'Chained down, you lay down To give yourself away Before you give in Don't give yourself away' this shows she is trapped by her way of life.. These lines make me think of a girl lying there having sex with a guy but hating it and hating herself at the same time.. I also think she's wearing a mask.. not showing her true identity and not showing that she hates it.. 'Don't give yourself away' 'Here we go from the top, she slides down To the bottom of the bed like she drowned Under the sheets for another "I love you" Here she goes from the top, here she goes, here he goes' By using the like she's drowned phrase it's like she's not there in spirit.. she's given in and given up. the another 'i love you' bit suggests that she wants to be loved, and the only way she knows how to get this is through sex. 'She's the type of girl when you leave the room, handle turn, lock the door' this shows again that she hates what she's doing, you can almost imagie her slamming the door closed as the door leaves, and sliding down the door only to sit in tears at the bottom full of resentment to her self. 'She's smooth at the hips, and I never thought she would feel like this' this bit confused me at first. but i kinda think it has a hidden meaning.. the smooth at the hips could also symbolise how she's feeling inside, she's soft, she's gentle.. she's vulnerable.. and the 'i never thought she would feel like this' bit shows you what other people feel about her.. they regard her as 'just after one thing' but the guy never knew how deep she flt and how strong the feelings she had were.. Well.. That's what i rekon anyway. Sorry for the ramble, haha x |
