Does anyone know what instrument this song begins with? At first I thought it was a harmonica, but it sounds more like some sort of organ. If anyone can tell me the name of it, and other songs (relating to Johnson or otherwise) that use the instrument, that would be great. :) |

This song reminds me of people who drink and drive, and therefore get into accidents. And like what madxzz stated, it sounds like a carnival. Going round and round, with no end and no beginning. This song has both the victim and drivers view. Lots of imagery of cold dry asphalt, losing your way and a weight on your shoulder. |

This is a great song, definitely thought out and deep. I think that what Jack is trying to say, in relation to the environment, is that we need to be cautious about global warming and how humans are slowly destroying the Earth. "All of life is in one drop of the ocean waiting to go home Just waiting to go home And if the moon can turn the tides It can pull the tears and take ‘em from our eyes And turn ‘em into monsoons" Tears are related to mother nature's waters, and how human emotion and purpose sometimes get it the way of helping our environment. But if we don't watch for these signs, our Earth will be destroyed all in due time. I also think that when he says "daddy" he is relating to God, or something of that sort, whom has not been watching over their child (Earth). My interpretation, anyways.. |
