This song reminds me of a high school/college relationship growing up. In high school and college, they were happy and thought that they'd be together forever. But then something came along that made them take a hiatus (a mutual breakup for college, for example, or something happened in one of their lives).
Through the years, the guy finds out that she's moved on, or else they give it another go, but he finds out that her heart is still wth someone else. His heart, meanwhile, is still with her, and he can't shake that. Now, she's left with someone else, and he's stuck spinning his wheels with what could have been. |

I don't know if anyone else has caught this yet or not, but Lady Grey makes an appearance on Ingram Hill's most recent album, in the song "Yellow House." I can't quite figure out what the connection is, but I find it hard to believe that it's a coincidence "Lady Grey" showed up again. |

Actually, the "Johnstown" reference was also in the Springsteen version as well, so as much as it could be a local reference, who knows if it is or not. But (call me biased as a Clarks fan), the SPringsteen version's got nothing on this version. Never has, never will. |
