Arcade Fire – Wake Up Lyrics 6 years ago
@[distopiandreamguy:29892] dude. no replies? your explanation is incredible.nearly 10 years ago!! you might not see this, but if you do, thank you. my only possibly useful thought is 'my lightning bolts a glowin' could be referring to electrical impulses firing in our brains, making new links,

UNKLE – The Answer Lyrics 7 years ago
Commuting, soul draining. Dreaming of something better (more money.) Getting drunk with friends - great fun. Next day hungover, struggling, meet friends again, to be together. None of us know how to actually be happy but we feel happy in that moment. Driving home, stuck in traffic, thinking of the fun we had, moments of happiness fading. Doing it all again, meeting a lover. There's more to life? Yes, there is. We're not going to tell you though, you have to find it.

MGMT – Time to Pretend Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it's actually about the negatives of a life where you are trying to be too cool and do too many drugs etc. etc. ie. pretending to be cool

Santigold – L.E.S. Artistes Lyrics 17 years ago
it could be about being a black female musician, what that generally means, and how she is different from it..

also about being in the music industry, the parties u go to and mingle and the attraction people have to fame etc. she is not doing it for fame, she doesn't like fame.

i dunno, i could be wrong. awesome sound anyway

Streetlight Manifesto – One Foot on the Gas, One Foot in the Grave Lyrics 17 years ago
"And nothing will be broken if your house is made of stone
But you will know as I do it will never be a home"

possibly my favourite lyrics ever. because of my past experiences i interpret it as being about not allowing ur self to feel sad or showing sad emotions to try and protect yourself and then realising its impossible to do.

Anyway, i assummed the song was about religion, somebody questioning their religion etc. as i seem to interpret a lot of this album as being about religion, but i like the first explanation about record label too, that could be right, or it could be dual meaning..

Streetlight Manifesto – What a Wicked Gang Are We... Lyrics 17 years ago
I reckon it's about how we are all selfish and cruel. But:

"Everybody's got their reasons; everybody's got their ghosts to fear"

we are assholes because we have been hurt. normally by love, torn apart.

(my added bit:) If we all had perfect psychology, we would be happy with ourselves and therefore not nice to others..
