| Sparta – Hiss The Villain Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Sorry Malley and Circa but i have to agree with the idea that Jim is only using marriage as a metaphor for something signifying a strong bond. I have heard the theory that "Hiss the Villain" is a song about Jim's sorrow for ATDI parting. This is forever This ring will never leave this hand again I promise you AND Hopefully life goes on We'll meet up in the end Worn out These two sets i think make it very CLEAR that marriage is just a representation of something else and if you really do beleive that this song refers to ATDI breaking up then yeah it makes perfect sense. ATDI was what bonded them together, was the marriage they promised forever, and if you really want to stretch it you could say that the fact that JIM and CEDRIC both are singers relates to this line. We can shake our fists in vain Scream and lose our voice Ofcourse im sure it just refers to arguements but almost the entire ending to the songs points towards a resolution later in life and meeting up at the end. This alone strongly goes against your theory of a marriage, as in a marriage you work thru your problems till death but JIM is basically saying they will go on without one another(unlike in a marriage) and kinda displays a passing of time when he says "i keep forgetting why we fought" Only to finally froget all their grievances later on and be bigger men about it, in retrospect they can "smile on it" In my opinion these are JIMS hopes for the future of their relationship. |

Wow! Its been a while since Wire Tapped Scars, which is basically where i stopped my Sparta Journey. I had a chance to listen to their latest two albums of which i must say .. to me atleast are very disappointing. While Oceana Sleeps is a strong exception, beautiful song really! Im unable to really see its meaning besides whats most obvious thru his lyrics and over all tone. I use to think that Sparta although considered "emo" was a great band and actually gave the "Emo" genre something to proud of but now it seems as though their slowly fading into the rest of the shitty bands like Thursday for example. This arguement may actually have no real support behind it ... maybe im just really sad abou the direction their sound is going in comparison to their first album. ATDI Forever !! |
