This is a beautiful song. For some reason it always reminds me of (this will only mean something to some people) George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. The 'mahogony hair' conjures up images of Sansa Stark and somehow I can imagine this song being played in the scene where she builds a snow castle of Winterfell. She is separated from her family for so long and they are each wandering about, with each other in their hearts.
Obviously that's not actually what the song's about, but it's a similar theme of wandering about without a loved one but keeping them in your mind and wishing to see them again.
Kamelot are fantastic. |

His loved one/soul mate has died but she is there for him to lead him through anything even in death, though never completely as before.
Great song. |

I think this song is about the passing of time, hence references to the cradle and the beginnings of life up until death. It's also about how time can change things - eg. Ugly duckling. Very pretty song. |

Hmm..I have to say I never would have interpreted this song as being about Tony and about the fans, etc. To me, it is about the people of his past who have hurt him and who cannot just be forgotten, no matter how far he tries to run away. He feels like he can't escape the past. |

The idea of it being to a pen does quite explain a lot of this song to me. I think it is definitely about writing, though. I have always thought of it being about the writer's Muse. She inspires him to write because he is hopelessly in love with her but it hurts to love her because he cannot have her. This pain is what gives him fuel to write, however, so it is a tragic paradox. I dunno, just my take on it. |
